  • Summary: [Xbox Live Arcade] Available exclusively on Xbox LIVE Arcade, you can transfer the gold earned in these casino-style mini-games to the world of Fable II. Play these mini-games and build your Fable II bankroll. The Fable II Pub Games (available as one download) are: Keystone: A combination of Craps and Roulette; Spinnerbox: An updated take on slot machines; Fortune's Tower: A "press your luck" style of game. The download also includes a Shell, which is a tutorial of all three games. [Microsoft] Expand

  1. Pub Games does exactly what it's supposed to do and it does it in a fairly charming way. The background music and the graphics are quietly stylish with the occasional flourish - the way the hero cards spring to life in Tower of Fortune is a neat touch - but it's thoughtful design that makes the games worthwhile.
  2. If you're lukewarm about Fable II or gambling in general, then Pub Games doesn't do anything well enough to warrant your attention.
  3. 64
There's no personality here -- just a trio of games and nothing else. And only two of those games are good. If you've pre-ordered Fable II, then by all means, you should download and enjoy this free game.
  4. 60
For Fable fans only, games require more luck than skill.
  5. The 3 mini-games in this Fable II companion are decidedly mixed. [Nov 2008, p.80]
  6. Unfortunately, none of them are fun because of horrible odds that suck your gold dry.
  7. It's slightly less offensive as a Fable II preorder bonus, but it comes nowhere near justifying its 800 point ($10) asking price.

This game is just a cheap title cash grab, and nothing more.

Unfortunately I didn't pre-order my Fable 2 and I bought this out of sheer
curiosity since I absolutely loved Fable 2. And what did I get same semi-interesting games that look more like they belong on a fan made shareware site. At best these games might have been better as in game mini games. This download is a complete waste of money. And even if it were free, the games themselves are mediocre at best and barely hold your interest. Not to mention the "in-game rewards" which are laughable.

On the positive side, it does look pretty and feels like a Fable game.

    Overall:
Since I paid for this, I'm giving this game a 3 and that's only because I thought the visuals were charming. If this had been free, I might have given it a 4 or a 5, but it still wouldn't have ranked higher than a *meh*.
