Ken's Rage 2 doesn't diverge from the first game's structure, enriching it with many more playable characters and the new Legend story mode. If you are Hokuto No Ken fans and appreciated the first game, you will love Koei Tecmo's new title.

If you’re not a fan of those types of games, this won’t be the one to draw you in, unless you have some obscene love for source material. But as a DW fan, like me, you’ll get hours of enjoyment out of the face punching, body exploding ridiculousness that Ken’s Rage 2 delivers.

It’s still nice to see Tecmo Koei making enhancements, even if the fundamental formula is a bit flat these days.

    A monotonous one-note brawler. [Apr 2013, p.87]

  1. This has to be one of my favorite 360 games! After beating the 'Ken's Rage 1' I was glad to see improved graphics, the characters and texture are much more detailed and the game features more varied locations. The story mode is a single cohesive experience that follows through every major detail form the original manga. Instead of playing multiple repetitive campaigns with different player this game is a single campaign that lets you choose which warrior you want to play as throughout the different story arc's. This game is a great refresher for old fans and can educate new fans in a much quicker and enjoyable way then reading the manga or watching hundreds of episodes of the anime. Now it is a Dynasty Warriors game so repetitive brawling is to be expected, the progression system has been changed and may take a moment to figure out but one you do its not bad, I do feel boss battles have been simplified but the game is still really enjoyable and it does have online or local co-op which is a blast!
