Evidently, there's potential left to wring out of the old twin-stick shooter yet.
  2. There's truthfully nothing wrong with this package. If you have any interest in dual stick shooters, Geometry Wars 2 is definitely the cream of the crop.
  3. Feels like Geometry Wars but with more great game modes, multiplayer and improved visuals.
  4. If you loved the first Geometry Wars, you're going to adore Geometry Wars 2.
  5. There are a ton of new additions in this sequel making it more than worth the 800 MS Points, but somehow the game still felt like an add-on, and not a new game.

Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 reminds us why the service is called Xbox Live Arcade, offering up an old school high score chasing extravaganza that's more addictive, varied and even better looking than its predecessor.
  7. In the end, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 isn't looking to win you over if you weren't a fan of the previous games. Those who played the original to death will find a lot to like in its sequel, as it provides more of the same fast-paced shooting action that has become a staple of the series.

One of the most original, groundbreaking, and entertaining arcade games to be released in a good decade or two, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 is powerful and like none other. The high octane, frantic gameplay, the most colorful HD arcade game to ever be released, the incredible soundtrack it brings to the table, there is nothing Geometry Wars does not have and offer. I find myself so addicted to this game as to where I can't physically put the controller down and walk away. This game has it all with little to build on. New modes, HD, new soundtrack, this is all coming from an already successful game on the arcade marketplace. There are few games with the kind of energy Geometry Wars brings and I can't think of one other arcade game that comes close to this one. I will never be able to get enough of Geometry Wars, if your into video games at all this is a game that is a no brainer must have. Collapse

Cannot hope much anymore of a game: Addictive, fun, creative and entertaining. One point down of the game: no online play with friends. This is one of the best title that one can find on XBLA. Go get it, just worth time and money Expand

6 games in one. When my buddies aren't haloing we are constantly trying to beat each others scores. This game brilliantly decided to put the leaderboards on the game selection screen, constantly pushing you towards number 1. Expand

The expansion of game modes really increases the games re-play value. Co-op is frantic but understandably fun due to two people feeling relief after a difficult run. Expand

This is a fantastically fun game. If they add Xbox Live coop, then it would be an absolute masterpiece. Why don't they do that immediately? It would be immensely popular. Expand

This is so much fun on multi-player - we setup a big screen with a projector and had a blast. Controls are sensitive but work well. Another reviewer said the controls were unresponsive - I didn't find that at all. Expand

Don't believe the hype. While GeoWars 2 is good, it's not THAT good. Let's start with the good: intense game play, great music, bright and vibrate visuals. Now the bad: Frustratingly unresponsive controls. It is far too difficult to control your ship with accuracy. Before long, you'll be cursing the game hen you fly up and to the right instead of just up or in the edge of a gate instead of through it. The same goes for shooting, making in very difficult and frustrating to aim at times. For a game that boils down to nothing wiggling your two thumbs on two analog sticks, having controls tht aren't as responsive as you need them to be is kind of a big flaw, in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, still a solid game but it could use some improvement. Expand
