Gorgeous, irresistible and a must buy, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 epitomizes fun.

Evidently, there's potential left to wring out of the old twin-stick shooter yet.
  3. Even if you've grown tired of the seemingly endless cavalcade of dual-joystick shooters that Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved's success spawned on Xbox Live Arcade, the sequel is well-worth its $10 price tag.
  4. Great package for the price but the feeling that it's all been toned down leaves a sour taste in our mouths. If you never played the original though, that won't matter, because you'll love this to bits.

  1. One of the most original, groundbreaking, and entertaining arcade games to be released in a good decade or two, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 is powerful and like none other. The high octane, frantic gameplay, the most colorful HD arcade game to ever be released, the incredible soundtrack it brings to the table, there is nothing Geometry Wars does not have and offer. I find myself so addicted to this game as to where I can't physically put the controller down and walk away. This game has it all with little to build on. New modes, HD, new soundtrack, this is all coming from an already successful game on the arcade marketplace. There are few games with the kind of energy Geometry Wars brings and I can't think of one other arcade game that comes close to this one. I will never be able to get enough of Geometry Wars, if your into video games at all this is a game that is a no brainer must have. Collapse

Highly addictive and visually beautiful. Pacificism is a game type that will have you playing at 1am, 'just one more time'. If you don't usually go for XBLA titles then this is a perfect initiation. Expand
  3. This game is very addictive and fun. I wish it had online multiplayer though.

Don't believe the hype. While GeoWars 2 is good, it's not THAT good. Let's start with the good: intense game play, great music, bright and vibrate visuals. Now the bad: Frustratingly unresponsive controls. It is far too difficult to control your ship with accuracy. Before long, you'll be cursing the game hen you fly up and to the right instead of just up or in the edge of a gate instead of through it. The same goes for shooting, making in very difficult and frustrating to aim at times. For a game that boils down to nothing wiggling your two thumbs on two analog sticks, having controls tht aren't as responsive as you need them to be is kind of a big flaw, in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, still a solid game but it could use some improvement. Expand
