Every minute of Guitar Hero III has been an exciting experience.

As a freshman effort in an established franchise Neversoft has done just about everything perfectly. The game feels like Guitar Hero with just enough new spice to make it feel fresh at the same time. The track list is absolutely amazing and the addition of online and co-op career are much welcome additions.
  3. A great addition to the series, Guitar Hero III offers some great new tracks for hardcore fans, while the more responsive controls are great for newcomers.
  4. Neversoft played it pretty safe with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. It doesn’t break new ground and it didn’t need to. The existing formula has made the franchise a huge success. They did add a local co-op Career Mode, boss battles to the solo Career Mode, and a multiplayer Battle Mode. They also focused on improving the look and feel of the game with tremendous results.
  5. With online play, cooperative career, and a flesh-melting soundtrack, this is the best installment of the series yet.
  6. Guitar Hero III ups the ante with increased difficulty and new modes, and though not everything it adds is fantastic, the excellent tracklist and stellar gameplay are sure to keep you hooked.

In all honesty we're given another Guitar Hero game that despite the inclusion of some wonderful co-op play and horrible new "boss" battles is just another expansion with a list of songs that are neither well balanced nor interesting.

The only reason this gets a 9 and not a 10 from me is that the achievements are just terrible. But that's only for the 360. Expand

GH3 is by far the best of the Guitar Hero series, with graphics that would put most games to shame. But, if you're like me, and you spent three sleepless months waiting for this game to come out, you can't help but be a little disapointed. Then again, if you were me, you'd be expecting Stairway to Heaven, Hotel California, and a few more classic rock songs, along with free money lovingly placed inside the case, but, hey, we can't win 'wm all. :) Anyway, back to reality. If you've never played the Guitar Hero series before (where have you been?) then this game will blow you out of the water. The duel mode is really fun, and you'll spend lots of time on that, rather than Pro Face-Off. But if you're an avid GH fan, than you'll be more than a little disapointed. But, that's the folly of die-hard franchise fans. We can't just see a game for what it is. Expand

Me and my roommates have been huge funs of Guitar Hero 2, so to say we were excited about Guitar 3 is an understatement. However, when weMe and my roommates have been huge funs of Guitar Hero 2, so to say we were excited about Guitar 3 is an understatement. However, when we popped the game in, we were up for nothing more than disappointment.

The UI interface of Guitar Hero 3 feels nowhere near as polished or clean as the previous Guitar Hero's. But that's ok, because the game isn't about that...right? It's about the songs and the gameplay. While some of them are quite good, they aren't nearly as fun to play as songs from the previous series. Even songs we loved weren't very enjoyable to play.

Overall, I'm quite disappointed with this release, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised with the change in developers. I had long been a supporter over GH3 over Rock Band, but now it looks like I will be switching camps.
