Backed by identical(and cheesy)interfaces and feature sets, all three do an excellent job of re-creating there respective game, though their finest hour comes over live multiplay. [Jun 2006, p.64]
  2. It's functional backgammon on your 360, and not much else. But if you're into the game, that's probably good enough.

The computer is a challenging opponent, and often you'll feel that its dice are loaded, but this proves to be a nice way to learn backgammon. Without a tutorial mode though, it's trial by fire. But hey, you get what you pay for.
  4. If you are really into strategically thinking board games, or already into Backgammon then this is the perfect game for you. It has some pretty good single player, and even better Xbox Live play.
  5. Those who truly enjoy backgammon or want to try it for the first time may be interested in this game because of the low price (400 MS Points), but anyone else should use their MS Points elsewhere.
  6. There isn’t anything “wrong” with Hardwood Backgammon, but the fact that there really isn’t much to do beyond the standard backgammon game is a real letdown.
  7. Strategy fans will dig this game's effortless online experience, which alleviates the need to travel around town with a small vinyl briefcase full of checkers and dice, looking for fresh backgammon challengers.

It's a great outlet for fans of Backgammon to go and play their favorite game with other people, without the need to wander around with a small briefcase looking for other players.

The interface is pretty and customizable. The controls are intuitive. I had never played backgammon before and wanted to learn. I had all the The interface is pretty and customizable. The controls are intuitive. I had never played backgammon before and wanted to learn. I had all the rules down in about fifteen minutes. This is a fun, challenging game that even my wife will sit down and play with me. It is definitely worth the price. Full Review »
