nymSep 4, 2009The game is istantly an arcade classic, fast, challenging and fun.
The figthing is simple at first, yer it's hard to truly master:
combos, dodges, rolls, counters are all tools of the trade you'll have to understand to get a change.
While the action is fast, you'll need to think before acting, different enemies are vulnerable to different kind of attacks, and many will parry or dodge while surrounding you and following you around.
The zen meter is the pivot of your stratey, its two sides gets full when you dodge or hit, when they meet you get more points and can anleash a a temporary bonus.
At the same time, when you meditate (wich heal yourself) you'll drain the zen meter, and will be open to attacks.
The more successful your attacks, the more your rank will rise, and will score more points.
Points are needed to buy new lifes, and you'll need them if you don't master your moves.
The levels are beutifully rendered, and act like movie sets in wich you'll run around making your way throu enemies, and at the same time giving you multiple ways of escape or interact with.
If you manage to get a pair of 3d glasses( even the old red blue) the graphics get's even better, the illusion of prospective is really well done, and the game runs nice and smooth.
The musical score is really good, funky style and free to download, check it here http://www.bigdownload.com/games/invincible-tiger-the-legend-of-han-tao/pc/invincible-tiger-original-soundtrack/
Added bonus is the cooperative multyplayer.
I'm surprised that big names in game reviews are so unproffessional about this game, looks like they didn't even try to play the game, and discarded it at the first difficoulty. shame on them.
Don't be fooled by the low scores, try the game and learn the mechanics, this is a really nice game.… Full Review »
