With the full campaign mode taking you through different movies, the deleted scenes with their challenging levels and objectives, level creator that lets you upload and download levels online, and the local multiplayer, you have a ton of content all in a small $15 package. It really is a steal for what you're getting. The game play is fun and addicting, and the small problems I had with the first game have been ironed out completely. I highly suggest Joe Danger 2: The Movie without any doubts.

For $15, there's a lot here, and if you're in the mood for stunt racing, this is the game for you.

It is easily one of the best downloadable games to come out this year, and more than worth the price of admission.

Indie fun that jumps through all our hoops. [Dec 2012, p.79]

Joe Danger 2 is one of the few 'smaller' games that manage to be challenging and decidedly indie, whilst looking like they have more money and manpower behind it than Hello Games will probably ever want to throw at a project. It's a throwback to a time where videogames were allowed to have bright blue skyboxes, when dinosaurs and robots were the coolest antagonists you could think of and policeman or firefighter the best job you could ever wish to have. Dish out 1.200 Points for it, be grateful and look forward to whatever Hello Games will invest their considerable talent and passion into next.

Joe Danger: 2 The Movie has all the amazing things the first had and even more.

The biggest fear with a Joe Danger sequel was that it would be just more of the same, but Hello Games have done a fine job producing a game that demands you spend your money. The game isn't an improvement on the original title, but the tweaks and additions to the mechanics, make it a vital purchase.

Fans won't be astounded by Joe Danger 2, but they will have a polished, enjoyable, different-enough new installment to look forward to playing. You can't ask for much more than that.

There's the disappointment of no online multiplayer again, yes, but even amongst the occasional frustration and swear words as you try for yet another attempt at completing a level, you'll be keen to see what else is on offer here.

Frantic, addictive and extremely funny: Joe Danger's return couldn't have been better.

This is ultimately a modern game deeply rooted in nostalgia, and you can still see the component parts of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Trials, Sonic the Hedgehog and Excitebike in Joe Danger 2: The Movie, but this time around the amalgamation is seamless, unique and completely coherent.

While some may grow frustrated at the difficult challenges and later stages, tenacious platformer fans will find nothing but the utmost enjoyment in this title.

Joe Danger's back and is better than ever. Entertaining and different, simple and demanding, with many new options loads of content. The only things we can complain about are the lack of online multiplayer and the extreme difficulty at the end of the game.

Like the Trials games, Joe Danger delivered simple but exciting fun. With the sequel you'll get even more goodies and options. But for me the lane changes, unicycles etc. were just a distraction from the neck-braking stunts.

Hello Games has crafted another riotous game that fits comfortably between the racing and platforming genres, but this second installment leans closer towards the former. This might scare away some more casual players. If you love the quest for that perfect course run, and you don't mind working for it, Joe Danger's movie adventures won't disappoint.

Joe's sophomore outing certainly delivers on its goal of bridging the precise and methodical nature of platforming with the white-knuckle rush of finishing as fast as possible. If you're curious about this sort of hybrid experience, Joe Danger 2: The Movie is well worth the $15 ticket price.

It could use some work in the multiplayer department but, overall, Joe Danger 2 is a fun sequel to a surprising game.

Beautifully refined controls, a vibrantly silly world and some fantastically designed levels, Joe Danger 2 is a hugely likeable game. [Dec 2012]

A bigger, better, more action-oriented sequel, with everything that's been great in the original title on top of that. Hello Games did a fantastic job and they proved that even on a simple concept such as a bicycle hurdle race you may still find many great ideas.

Joe Danger: The Movie is more than just the funny and crazy little nephew of Trials. The game is varied thanks to the many different vehicles. We did however miss an online multiplayer mode.

It's fun, easy to pick up for any newcomer, and something to play when friends come over. It's also a nice little distraction when you want something that's fast-paced yet demands less attention than a triple-A game might require.

Joe Danger 2: The Movie is an extremely fun and entertaining game, but at the same time it shows that more isn't always better. Joe Danger is an amazing game - the sequel has to settle for being really good.

Joe Danger 2: The Movie has so much more content than its predecessor it almost doesn't feel like a sequel, and almost all of it is great. With tons of challenges to complete, multiplayer, and community content, you'll have plenty to do even after the credits roll.

Scared of a challenge? Then you might want to avoid Joe Danger 2: The Movie. Speed-maniacs, score hunters and generally thick players on the other hand, should dive right into this well worked out action game. Besides, it'll offer plenty of laughs with its insane gaming-moments.

Joe Danger 2: The Movie has more content and more variety of situations, but isn't so frenetic than his predecessor. Good visuals and fun multiplayer, but local only.

Joe Danger: The Movie represents a step forward for Hello Games. The team made a fun and good game, characterized by the same humor and the fast-paced gameplay already seen in the first chapter.

The result is a game which has universal appeal – a return to the brightly-coloured skill tests that anyone who grew up with earlier generations of console will remember fondly. What is more, the constant emphasis on learning and mastering the game's rules and then improving on scores and times makes Joe Danger 2 a perfect game to return to time and again.

Whether you're serious about climbing the leaderboards or just looking to race a teetering cupcake monster around on a pushbike, Hello Games' victory lap has you covered. May the instant restarts never falter. May the boosting never cease.

Maybe Joe Danger 2 doesn't stretch out of its comfort zone as much as it could, but its comfort zone is still a danger zone worth riding into, and easy to recommend.

Joe Danger's latest adventure will charm your pants off, is filled to the brim with easily accessible content, and offers gameplay that is at times frighteningly addictive.

Some new movie-based motifs added nice variety to the levels, but an unusually steep difficulty curve had a part of me pining for the original. Still, if you love Joe Danger, this new chapter is more than worthy of a look.
  35. 80
Joe Danger has a potent ace up his sleeve: a flexible level editor that lets you easily build new tracks even as you roll and rocket through them. Joe Danger 2's movie sets don't always know the difference between a joy ride and a death race, but this feature alone is bound to keep fresh, fun new content flowing for ages.

Like illustrious forebears in the score attack/total frustration genre, Joe Danger: The Movie will annoy as much as it delights. Don't be fooled by the cutesy graphics and sound; Hello Games wants you dead and the levels it built are happy to oblige.

Succeeds in retaining the raw fun that made the original game great while amping up the excitement and variety. Casual players will enjoy the action-packed scenes while the hardcore crowd will relish the challenge of gathering all 30 pro-medals and sharing their custom level creations online.

A game clearly put together with care and passion, built around a core of delightful feedback and quite simply fun at a very deep and instinctive level. It still feels great. There's just a sense that there remains a bolder and more ambitious, game lurking just under the surface and only occasionally showing itself.

All the new vehicles and new environments come at the expense of the satisfying controls and focus of the original. But the bar was set very, very high with the first effort, so Joe Danger 2 remains a lot of fun even if that bar is lowered a bit.

Joe Danger 2: The Movie is a very solid sequel that provides more of the same but delivers a more exciting package around the basic mechanics.

Joe Danger 2: The Movie is a good game, but even with the Hollywood theme, it doesn't innovate enough on what Hello Games did two years ago.

Overall, the game is fun, yes. Very fun, and that's probably the biggest thing to keep in mind about it; if it were 800 MSP, I'd say "jump on it!" without a second thought, but the equivalent of fifteen dollars? That's a lot harder to swallow.

Don't let the 1,200 Microsoft Points price tag put you off. There is plenty of enjoyment to be had from Joe Danger 2: The Movie. While the developer, Hello Games, could have been more ambitious in moving the game forward, returning players will be happy with the new content that's on display. That's a wrap!

When other downloadable games offer a similar experience for the same price or less with a more streamlined experience, tenfold the content and just as much replayability, it becomes hard to recommend Joe Danger 2: The Movie, no matter how cute and competent its design is.

If you loved the original Joe Danger, you'll get more of what you loved here.

Clearly the developers went in with a lot of new and ambitious ideas but the execution of such in some ways fell short. What made the first Joe Danger game enjoyable is simply not found this time around.
