This rogue South American island is suspected of stockpiling WMDs and it’s your job to negate the threat to world peace. It could be to your advantage that this tropical paradise is about to implode as various factions vie for power – it just needs a gentle nudge in the right direction. Just Cause offers the freedom to tackle your assignment however you want: play the island’s factions off against one another; incite a rebellion among the masses; or build alliances with rebel forces and drug cartels. The game world consists of 1,225 sq. miles of mountains, jungles, beaches, cities and villages which can be explored by land, sea and air. And you will have at your disposal a varied and exciting array of vehicles, planes and watercraft. [Eidos Interactive] Expand

  1. Fans of the Nintendo SNES classic "Pilotwings" will literally jump at the chance to parachute from any of the aircraft for spectacular views of the vast landscape below. There is bound to be a sequel, because this original is so good.

The sheer capacity of things to do in San Esperito is enormous and usually overwhelming.
  3. After you liberate the island and eliminate the dictator, there is simply no other reason to put the disk back in your system. The island looks pretty and there are plenty of attractions to see, but once you spend a little time there, you are ready to leave.

This game is more a sandbox than any other created, and thus the only people who will really be able to enjoy the game are those who have the imagination to make their own fun in a world. For many, this will cause JC to fall into the shadows of "meh", but for creative gamers, it'll be the best sandbox game you will ever own.
  5. Just Cause simply has too little substance to propel it to great status and I think most gamers will find the flaws adding up to make a tiring gaming experience rather than the fun one it should be. That’s not to say the game isn’t fun, because it is, just not all the time.
  6. Just Cause was filled with a lot of great ideas. It had the potential to be an awesome game, but what comes across as unsurety on the part of the development team really hampers it.
  7. As an admirer of all things unusual and unusually entertaining, Rico's bizarre parachute tricks justify the four to six hours it takes to complete the campaign, but once the novelty wears off, there's not much here to merit a second glance that hasn't been done better by other games - mission accomplished, but just barely.

Undescribible, Unbelievable, Outstanding, and perfect. I can't imagine what the actul game will be like. For such a small amount of land, this game excels with vhicle option and supurb visuals as well as smartly craften missions and beautiful sights. This game rocks. Possibly better than Vice City. This game is sure to stir up some gaming history conversation. 100 out of 1. Expand

You are able to do rediculous stunts that range from hanging onto the back of a helicopter in flight to jumping from ontop of one car to another while pushing 80. overall it looks like lots of fun. On the downside though, side missions repititive and riddled with bugs, some side missions are impossible due to bugs (blowing up building that you can walkthrough, hence they dont exist except graphically) racing missions are for the most part impossible. And it takes forever if you dont have a helicopter to get around. But on the whole a very fun game definitly worth checkin out if you dont already have saints row, or the godfather. Expand

Would have scored an 8 if it wasn't so repetetive and the car handling didn't suck.

The original Just Cause is a decent game that gets mundane after a while.

Gameplay wise,Just Cause is a fun open-world action game. The combat is decent, with a good selection of weapons and explosives to choose from. The driving is pretty bad,but there are a ton of vehicles. The missions aren't as imaginative as I hoped. They can be fun,but towards the end the game just got frustrating. The AI on both sides are dumber than dirt.

Graphically,Just Cause looks nice on the 360.There are occasional framerate problems but nothing serious.

Sound effects are great, but soundtrack is bad.

Game is too short for a open-world game.

Overall,Just Cause is a solid game held back by generic mission design, terrible AI and vehicle physics, and it's length. It's not bad by any means,so still give it a try if you like action games.
