Despite a few hiccups with the tracking and an unorthodox handling of the vehicles, Joyride is a solid racing game at heart.

And, like many of Kinect's titles, photos taken of the players capture all the ridiculousness. Kinect's launch-day racer lacks polish, and serious race fans will want to steer clear of its super-casual approach. However, if you're looking for a Kinect title with a fun, wind-in-your-hair approach to the genre, this one's worth taking for a spin.
  3. Dec 21, 2010
What began as a promising little Arcade game turned into a poor showpiece for a new technology.

There are some brief moments of fun in Kinect Joy Ride, but most of the time you'll be too busy fighting the loose controls to really enjoy it. Making matters worse, the game would be an absolute pushover if you played it with a traditional analog stick and buttons. With shallow gameplay and just a handful of tracks, it certainly doesn't justify the $50 price tag.
  5. Dec 21, 2010
If there wasn't a decent racer attached to the gimmick, I wouldn't recommend it at all.
  6. Dec 15, 2010
This is a game that feels like an expanded tech demo.
  7. Dec 21, 2010
Kinect Joy Ride is typically the game that would have won everything to be playable with a traditional controller. Playing it with your body is a real stress, as it is completely approximative and capricious. Even with all your patience and goodwill, it's a failure you have to quickly forget!

As with all games, its a guilty pleasure. No doubt the best racing game you could buy for any gaming system. A perfect family friendly game that people of all ages will enjoy. I'm fifteen, and I still love it anyway. Expand

The problem here is one fo concept. It is a bit stupid to try and drive a car standing up and holding nothing in yor hands. Aside of that there are control issues and the game is more suitable for little kids. The racing genre needs a different approach to blossom with Kinect. Expand

The game was amusing in the beginning, but after 1 race it would be very buggy and turn left when i wanted to turn right. This game is a disappointment to gamers. Expand
