The tone might be almost overwhelmingly saccharine sweet, with even the caricature Nazis of the films stripped of their insignia and leering malice, but all gamers, young or old, are virtually guaranteed a great time. [July 2008, p.78]
  2. The gameplay is addictive as ever and the Indy makeover oozes with style.
  3. LEGO Indiana Jones is absolutely worth playing, especially if you want to introduce young children to the series without scaring the hell out of them with the ending to "Raiders."
  4. A brilliant game that while not quite as fun as Lego Star Wars (perhaps because that was Star Wars), still stands on it own as a must have for anyone who like adventure games with a bit of humour.
  5. Lego Indiana Jones has met if not surpassed what Lego Start Wars achieved. The story is wonderful, the cut scenes are funny while still keeping to the story, and the gameplay makes you play nonstop.
  6. Overall, LEGO Indiana Jones is a must have for any fan of the LEGO genre or of the Indiana Jones movies.
  7. Being an “achievement addict” when I first got my hands on the list, I was more-or-less drooling... OK, that was a slight over-exaggeration but they are one of the best achievement lists I have seen.
  8. Lego Indy doesn’t vary much in scope and content from the previous titles that the pair have worked on, but it’s still a fun game to play and a smart take on the game-from-a-movie process, which more times than not turns out to be lacking in the “game” portion. Most of all, it makes me wonder what they’ll team up on next.
  9. Indiana Jones the original adventures is a fun and enjoyable game for all audiences, and that is what is important about the LEGO series brought by Tt games, most people who play this game will like it.

This is not a title that will change your life or change the industry. It is, however, a heap of fun – a light-hearted reinterpretation of three iconic films that’s at its best with friends.
  11. If you're looking for an entirely new gameplay experience from the folks at LucasArts, then you won't find it in LEGO Indiana Jones. However, this is the most polished and enjoyable entry in the LEGO series of games.
  12. It’s also a rare creature: a family friendly multiplayer 360 game that will appeal to adults and kids alike.
  13. Lego Indiana Jones’s success comes from keeping the fun gameplay of the Lego Star Wars games, but injecting the classic Indy moments, music, and characters
  14. The addictive gameplay, well-rendered graphics (even on an aged system), easy control scheme, innovative cooperative features and tons of replay value make for a winner.

Recreates the happy and easy-going gameplay familiar from Lego Star Wars. As fun and humorous as it is, it does not provide challenge for a seasoned gamer. [June 2008]
  16. The only thing is that we were looking forward to more innovative elements, next to Indiana's unique abilities, swinging and climbing on ropes and such. The gameplay style is getting a bit stale at this point.

Lego Indiana Jones is very accessible and very well produced. Although for some endlessly smashing Lego scenery and finding keys to fit winches again and again and again in a desperate attempt to reach the next mildly humorous Mr. Bean-injected version of a scene from the classic films may get slightly tedious after hours and hours of it, and this is just about all Lego Indiana Jones' gameplay really amounts to.

Traveller's Tales has once again delivered an experience that boils down to smashing stuff over and over again while searching for secrets, while also managing to make that formula fun and addictive.
  19. 80
Even if you make only one trip through LEGO Indiana Jones, it'll be a great ride.
  20. The third time is the charm for Traveller's Tales--logical puzzles and great offline co-op play make this the best Lego game yet.
  21. The story and general game play is very good. The game on a whole is good but is no better than Star Wars or any worse for that matter. It’s just a shame it’s let down by some poor finishing in places.

LEGO Indiana Jones may not be quite as engaging as LEGO Star Wars, but it’s still a lot of fun to play through. That’s doubly true with a friend. The quest isn’t particularly long, but there’s plenty of incentive for a second run-through (or a third …), and Indy fans will definitely have a blast re-living the original films -- LEGO-style.

Lego Indiana Jones has three main areas of appeal: those who liked Lego Star Wars, those who liked the movies and those who want a fun and utterly charming gaming experience. If you match one of those criteria it’s definitely worth a look. Match all three with a taste for its much-needed replay value and you should have bought this already.

If you've got kids of a gaming age then they'll enjoy playing this and, thanks to the excellent two-player mode, you'll still get to join in.
  25. To round off, as a game in itself, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is a fantastic game, even for people who haven't seen the movies.
  26. Playing through this game reminded me how much fun the Indiana Jones character really is. If you enjoy the films at all, and enjoyed Lego Star Wars, this is right up your alley.
  27. By permitting Traveller's Tales to parody the movies to such an extent, they've allowed the developer to create something above and beyond the standard movie tie-in. [July 2008, p.86]
  28. LEGO Indy is a step above the Star Wars titles, and is a must-get for any fans of the whip-cracking archeologist.
  29. Despite the lack of online play and the humdrum combat system, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is a lot fun to play.
  30. Fans of the Lego Star Wars games, fans of Indiana Jones and gamers looking for a fun distraction even the younger ones can get into will enjoy Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures.
  31. For LEGO and Indy fans, this game is a revelation! The funny scenes, in which Traveller’s Tales make fun of themselves, are one of the best parts of LEGO Indiana Jones.
  32. Do not let the childish coat this game is covered in (I mean it is LEGO after all!) scare you away because this game is worth the time and effort you will put in while solving puzzles, exploring levels and collecting everything the game has to offer.
  33. This simple gameplay is appropriate to the game’s primary target audience, children. But it is notable just how much fun adults can have with it.
  34. Star Wars may have left you wondering if they would jump the shark with Indiana Jones, but this one just leaves you hungry for the upcoming Batman title and a few more improvements.
  35. In some levels the single player experience feels butchered. So much so, we occasionally found ourselves switching on a second pad, moving the other character into position and then dropping out afterwards.

LEGO Indiana Jones turned out to be a good game despite the fact that it isn’t as much fun as LEGO Star Wars was. The gameplay with its increased number of puzzles, however, leads to several frustrating moments, especially since you can’t save as often as you might want to. Nevertheless: Fans should definitely give the game a try. [Issue#14]

Lego Indy's main quest isn't terribly expansive -- you can finish it in a weekend, and that's if you take your time -- but the game's unquestionably built for completists, with a ton of hidden treasure and extra characters (you can unlock pretty much every character in the films, right down to Last Crusade's castle butler).
  38. There’s still a lot of entertainment value here: the cutscenes, the puzzles, the whip, the unlockable areas, the light-hearted humor. But, moreso than with Lego Star Wars, you don’t need a microscope to see the flaws in this shiny new jewel.
  39. 75
I think that the Star Wars universe is naturally a better fit for Travelers' Tales' LEGO series. In LEGO Indiana Jones, the combat isn't as fun, thanks to the lack of lightsabers, for example.

Prepare for some frustrating deaths. [July 2008, p.79]

LEGO Indiana Jones sticks to an almost identical formula to the LEGO Star Wars games before it, but with its adventure-themed gameplay and incredibly entertaining cooperative features, the game is a solid purchase for anyone who wants to have some pure, uncomplicated fun.
  42. Traveller's Tales has done a good job with the Lego license, and this Indiana Jones is no exception.

It doesn’t have the greatness of George Lucas space saga, but the implicit exploration of the movies allows for a better exploitation of the puzzle element. A fun proposition for all audiences. [July 2008]
