  1. From the well planned and executed single player campaign to the never-ending online battles, it’s one of those rare games where you feel like you got every penny’s worth and then some. [JPN Import]
  2. It's beautiful and refreshingly simple but at the same time relentlessly retro and samey. [Feb 2007, p.58]
  3. While the game's definitely not perfect, it introduces some interesting gameplay mechanics to keep the action steady from start to finish, and it sports some truly excellent graphics. It's not going to win any awards for its storyline (I still don't know who some of the characters are), but when viewed as a series of standalone missions, it's a blast.
  4. It's the charm and pacing of this title that keeps you engaged, excited and almost constantly fighting.
  5. As an action game, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition delivers in spades – even if it can be finished in under 8 hours total playtime.
  6. Lost Planet isn't a bad game, but it's seems a few areas like the voice acting, game flow, and enemy A.I. really put a damper on the its overall potential.

At the end of the day, playing Lost Planet is like dating a supermodel with personality problems: it's great looking and has the potential for good times, but ultimately, it's just not worth the trouble. [Feb. 2007, p.64]

Also the free CE map is very good as well. Plenty of life in the multiplayer maybe more than Gow's to be truthful. Expand

I played the demo, thoroughly enjoyed it, and the final product inspired the same feelings. The pacing is reminiscent of Panzer Dragoon Orta, where simple arcade-style gameplay rushes you through a fairly short quest (which is a good thing if you've ever played the aforementioned). The story is not what I would call generic, but the storytelling certainly isn't up to par with games like, oh, God of War. But I wasn't expecting this to be the next God of War or RE4. The demo showed everything to the game. Great graphics and presentation, an arcade style shooting mechanic, and mechanical suit battles. All consistute a shallow but very enjoyable game. May not be worth 60 dollars but it's sure as hell worth renting. Expand

The best different little thing this game did was with it's cold heat source dynamic and life/time limit, these, whilst interesting ideas were pretty poor and similar concepts were dealt with much better in the game metro 2033. A stock standard 3rd person shooter. Expand

Lost Planet is more drab, slow, mundane, and shallow than any other shooter I've played. The graphics are very nice, but don't dare Lost Planet is more drab, slow, mundane, and shallow than any other shooter I've played.
