  1. From the well planned and executed single player campaign to the never-ending online battles, it’s one of those rare games where you feel like you got every penny’s worth and then some. [JPN Import]
  2. Lost Planet is a great game with action-packed gameplay and a nice cinematic feel to it. Even though the single-player mode is a little on the short side, the great multiplayer elements are enough for the price of admission.
  3. While the game's definitely not perfect, it introduces some interesting gameplay mechanics to keep the action steady from start to finish, and it sports some truly excellent graphics. It's not going to win any awards for its storyline (I still don't know who some of the characters are), but when viewed as a series of standalone missions, it's a blast.
  4. As an action game, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition delivers in spades – even if it can be finished in under 8 hours total playtime.
  5. Despite some niggling flaws with the camera and general speed of the game it does feel reasonably polished. There are some really neat effects used and the idea of having the choice to use the Vital Suits or on foot makes for some inspiring gameplay moments.
  6. There are downsides, like the Akrid's lack of any sense of self-preservation (and strict attack patterns) and a heavy dependence on mechs which are not as much fun to control as in other, mech-centric games. But the biggest drawback is the lack of options and reliability in online multiplayer, which may hurt the game's long term popularity.
  7. On the one hand it has so many design flaws that Gamestyle should hate it. But on the other hand it's a fun experience with a number of memorable moments.

Lost Planet isn't necessarily as good as GoW, but it has a kick that is enjoyable. The single player can be finished in 4-5 hours on Easy & 7-12 on Normal(I'm not sure about Hard). Pros: 1. Great Graphics(Not as detailed as GoW, but still can be considered "next-gen." 2. Enjoyable Online: The online consists of about 4 modes with each with distinct attributes. 3. Good Single-player: Probably has the best boss fights in any game. Cons: 1. Speed of Character: The main character walks very slow. Sometimes I found myself walking for minutes without any excitement. 2. Single player is too short(see above). 3.Story & Voice Acting: While this won't really ruin the game experience, it is a con. The story is sort of complicated and the cutscenes are over very long (you can skip them). The voice actors are very very average. Overall: This game is very good, and deserves a spot in your 360 collection. If you're still hesitant by the reviews, try renting the game first to see for yourself. Lost Planet is a very enjoyable game, and is one of the best Xbox 360 game so far this year (2007). Expand

I played the demo, thoroughly enjoyed it, and the final product inspired the same feelings. The pacing is reminiscent of Panzer Dragoon Orta, where simple arcade-style gameplay rushes you through a fairly short quest (which is a good thing if you've ever played the aforementioned). The story is not what I would call generic, but the storytelling certainly isn't up to par with games like, oh, God of War. But I wasn't expecting this to be the next God of War or RE4. The demo showed everything to the game. Great graphics and presentation, an arcade style shooting mechanic, and mechanical suit battles. All consistute a shallow but very enjoyable game. May not be worth 60 dollars but it's sure as hell worth renting. Expand

The online battles are great fun and don't suffer nearly as much lag as games like Prey. Vital Suit controls are smooth and very easy to get the hang of. All the weapons are killer and the levels are challenging enough without being too frustrating. Overall, the graphics are fantastic, its a solid game, but it could've used a little more development in the story department. 7 out of 10. Expand

The story is weak. Alot of derivative gameplay. Starts off cool, but loses interest fast. Enemy A/I is weak for a FPS.
