Daft story, clever puzzles, definitely worth a shot. [Christmas 2013, p.107]

Magrunner: Dark Pulse may be derivative in nature, but that doesn’t stop it from being a lot of fun.

Magrunner is certainly far from perfect, with a gameplay mechanic that feels both unimaginative and restrictive, but it is a worthy addition for fans of first-person puzzle games.

If you've run the first-person gauntlet before, Magrunner's slight tweaks on the formula make it worth checking out. [Jan 2014, p.71]

Magrunner: Dark Pulse is a mostly solid magnetic riff on the game-concept set forth by Portal all those years ago, but a handful of design missteps, including one giant fundamental goof-up, work overtime holding it back.

I loved it the whole wayI can't believe there is no user reviews on this, What is wrong with people? This game was absolutely amazing. I loved it the whole way through. Sure it may seem like a big copy of portal, But you might as well say. Every game is a copy of Every game, if that's how you think.

The puzzles were hard and extremely well thought out. The graphics weren't the absolute greatest but they were definitely up to standards. The Game play did feel a little difficult in some points, but nothing "Game ruining". The story did feel confusing in some points, But I still managed to get myself involved with the main character and built up a connection with him, But in the end. You don't exactly play a puzzle game for it's "Great" story. Portals story is nothing overly amazing like everyone makes it out to be anyway. It's good, But not GREAT.

I think people should just take it how it is, Whether it's a portal copy or not. The makers should still be appreciated for the hard work and effort they put in. They were obviously inspired by portal, and portal fans should appreciate a company trying to make games in this genre. There isn't too many like it, and it felt good to play a game like Portal, that wasn't portal. It still felt fresh and new.

People should just take it for what it is and play Magrunner, I had a hell of a fun time and would play it again. I actually also found it harder than Portal and Portal 2 is some parts, so I found myself having to look up a walkthrough for some of the parts. That never happened with Portal. Either way if you're looking for a Portal kind of game, I definitely recommend Magrunner, and give it a good chance. It is very fun and actually quite long. Also had me scratching my head a few times.
