Great game by all means. Certainly a step up from 2K9. My player mode creates a whole new level of excitement and certainly puts MLB 2K as a high end series again. Updated lighting, players look much more realistic and the stadium atmosphere is complemented by the improvement in crowd chatter and noises. I've been playing 2K games for a while now and I am very impressed with their work. MLB 2K8 and 2K9 were almost, steps down in the 2K series and I was very disappointed. But have no fear because 2K10 makes you feel like the transition was very smooth and I will be playing this game for a long time. The features and modes will keep you certainly in high spirits, a MLB fan's heaven. I have not yet seen one glitch, I should also add. A great game. Expand

As a former PS2 owner I decided when I upgraded to buy xbox 360. However one big part of my decision was my lose of the show.2K9 was pretty lame however this version is near flawless. I pick a team other than my yankees and create players. I love this game now becuase you can change pitching along with thier pitches, and you can raise their speed, movement. The batting is still to strong. As a former PS2 owner I decided when I upgraded to buy xbox 360. In other words I can still hit 350 with every other player. I hate that. Ib my lineup of 9 after 60 games already 7 guys are hitting over.320. I hate that but it happened on the show also. Overall this game is near flawless. I thing that does bother me tho is I have only had 1 error in 60 game.A little unrealistic. Expand

Pretty good game. Critics are pretty much on point - but since I don't care about features like franchise or my career, I weigh my score based primarily on graphics, gameplay, atmosphere and sound as it regards just playing out a single game. Pitching looks great - the movement seems highly authentic. The analog pitch mechanic is a great improvement over timed button presses. The Pretty good game. Pitching looks great - the movement seems highly authentic. The analog pitch mechanic is a great improvement over timed button presses. The homerun replays look nice, almost as good as seeing one hit in real life from the stands. Batting is excellent. The fact that a player will put a ball into play based on internal skills and attribute ratings is awesome. I don't have to be perfect with my swing anymore, so the learning curve is really good. Fielding is VERY BORING - get a clue next year and work on it, there's nothing to do but watch. I might change my mind, but after about 5 complete games, nothing I saw on the fielding aspect impressed me - but the lack of any user effort was so disappointing - even after looking for sliders and custom options. It's a solid 8, which it to say I pretty much agree with all metacritic posts and am just being nice to 2K since they hooked me up with a free Fathead!!! Expand

This is the type of game where you need to review it for what it is and not compare it to MLB 10 the show because then the game feels very bad.I really enjoy this game and I think 2K is back on track and is going to make a baseball game amazing in 2001 with MLB 2k11.For now,the graphics are great, commentary is the best and the my player mode is awesome! The game play is a big improvementThis is the type of game where you need to review it for what it is and not compare it to MLB 10 the show because then the game feels very bad.I really enjoy this game and I think 2K is back on track and is going to make a baseball game amazing in 2001 with MLB 2k11.For now,the graphics are great, commentary is the best and the my player mode is awesome! The game play is a big improvement over 2k9 but that game wasn't bad by any means, after the patch was released it actually was one of my favorite baseball games.World series baseball 2k3 was something special and the best baseball game ever at the time and I think it's all gonna come back and they will be on top again but like I said I don't like to compare but MLB 10 the show blew me away! This game is a solid 8. This is basically a beta game at this juncture (3/23/2010). The online gameplay is pretty good, but there are huge exploits. The stadium/crowd graphics are what you would expect from a company bleeding money.

This game is an abomination and everyone who was responsible for it should be ashamed. I hate the fact that EA has a monopoly on the NFL, but at least they deliver a serviceable product. 2K sports is just raking their customers over the coals with this game trying to milk a buck out of the fact that they have no competition in the baseball market and therefore don't need to produce a This game is an abomination and everyone who was responsible for it should be ashamed. Where to begin, OH WHERE TO BEGIN!? A.I. - Utterly repugnant. Makes me want to fist fight my dog. Computer making insane and unrealistic throws time and time again on one hand, only to drop fly balls or steal a base at inopportune times. It's all over the place. Graphics are passable. Not the prettiest game, but it's not bad by any stretch. Sound. Clear and well presented. I might be blinded by my rage in other areas but I haven't noticed any problems with the audio quality. Gameplay - This is the hate filled money shot right here. I can't even begin to guess what they were thinking with some of this stuff. First of all the menu system is easily one of the wort I've ever seen. There is no inherent logic to any of it. You will have difficulty getting from mode to mode ... but why would you? Because let me tell you right now the modes are terrible. Quick Play lets you play an immediate game against a computer opponent or a friend. Cool. That works too, so hey, more power to them. If only anything else did. My Player mode sounds awesome in practice. It's like an RPG career where you build a guy and work him through the minors at his position, growing him until you make it to the big leagues. That's all well and good except for the fact that it's smashed up like Billie Joel's Lexus after an open bar wedding. There are reports all over the net about people's save files being locked or corrupted. LOCKED OR CORRUPTED. It takes forever to level a character up, can you imagine the frustration you would feel if after you put 10+ hours into it, the file on your box just arbitrarily decided you weren't allowed to use it anymore? It's like the game is telling you to go screw yourself, at random, because it hates you. And achievements might not as well even be in the mode since they are all bugged out and glitched (like most other parts of the game). Half of them don Expand

While MLB 2K10 takes small steps towards fixing the problems that made last year's game such a disappointment, it still doesn't come close to delivering the definitive baseball experience that we all want from the oldest baseball franchise around.
  2. MLB 2K10 is heading in the right direction, but it’s not quite where it needs to be yet.

But this much is certain: when you put the game in and start playing, you'll actually be able to play a game of baseball. That alone is a huge improvement over last year's title.
