The sheer immensity of this collection continues to astound me, and while price should by no means be the ultimate deciding factor in a review, with the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, it's impossible to ignore. Simply put, this single disc will keep you highly entertained for several staycations to come.

If you've never played these classics, you owe it to yourself to run out and pick up a copy this instant. If you've played them before, this is a budget-priced return to some of the most influential video games ever made. Either way, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is $50 you won't regret spending.

In the end, with Metal Gear Solid HD Collection you are getting 3 games in a classic series that will last you a good 30 hours, maybe double if you partake in all of the side activities and extras that the games have. It comes close to the value of the Orange Box, especially considering that it is being sold for less than most retail games.

One must take note of a very simple fact -- Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is so damn good that it single-handedly justifies the $49.99 asking price. I would happily pay that for the game on its own, so the fact that it comes with the still-engrossing Sons of Liberty and an extraneous Peace Walker is pure gravy.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection has probably the highest quality-price ratio you can get. You'd be mad to miss out on what's on offer.

The fight against The Boss, Colonel Campbell going nuts, the haunting tune as Chrysalis flies by – these are the kind of memorable events that define Metal Gear, and they are just as awesome as you remember.

All three titles have been given visual facelifts and their execution on today's gaming systems is excellent.

A great value, even if you only plan to play one of the three games. That it has three you might want to play, plus a bunch of fun extras, just cements this as the best multi-game compilation since 2007's Orange Box.

When you bundle together three games that people define as "classics," you expect an amazing product. The Metal Gear Solid Collection delivers that.

Three great games at a very good price, brilliantly standing the test of time and allowing Xbox users to play MGS 3 and Peace Walker for the very first time. An high quality package, strongly advised for everyone.

It's easy to pick nits about the weird Achievement appropriation, the fact that the games lack HD detail such as animated hair and high-quality lip-synching, and that two of the franchise's best games are absent. But the fact that three of the best stealth games ever made look even better in a $50 Xbox 360 package should put this collection on your radar.

While the years haven't been too kind to their spruced-up SD assets, the chance to fully experience the MGS saga is one Xbox 360 owners definitely shouldn't pass up.

All gamers should put their hand on the Metal Gear Solid Collection HD, because it encloses five chapters of one of the most popular and influential videogame saga ever.

If you've had the urge to sneak around in Snakes shoes once more than heed the call. The Metal Gear Solid is the standard by which future HD collections should be judged.

One must-have compilation. The first reason for this is that the three games are great ones, and shine in HD, especially MGS3, who can stand the comparison with some current games. If you have played one of the titles, or even the three, there are still good reasons to play again some of the most influential console games of the last generation.

Despite some missing pieces, Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection is a good value for fans of the series and those who like stealth games.

The mgs hd collection consists of 2 main entries of the series (mgs 2 and 3) as well as the big budget spinoff, peacewalker, the 2 msx original metal gear games, plus all extended content of mgs2, 3, such as the VR missions and the monster hunter minigame of peacewalker for a price of 50$. That's not a bargain, that's a steal. Full Review »

Just like the originals, but better. Better graphics, audio, effects, everything. It's also much more comfortable to play Peace Walker with a controller than it is on the PSP. Not as good as MGS4, but still amazing, just like all of the other Konami games. If you're new to the genre or setting, fear not. The controls are extremely ergonomic, and the stories are wonderful. Very artistic, especially Peace Walker. Full Review »

Metal Gear Solid is a fantastic series but these are just remakes. The updated graphics and sound are not worth paying $55 for. In my opinion, just pick up the originals. Full Review »
