A faithful conversion with a clever spin on game play on the Richest mode. It’s a real shame there is no online play.
-
70In the end, Monopoly's newest video game edition is a good, but not great, interpretation of the Parker Brothers classic.
-
A decent port of the classic board game. [Mar 2009, p.93]
-
60EA has managed to produce a competent virtual version of the classic board game, but we still can't recommend it over buying the real thing. You get numerous boards and the questionable Get Rich Quick mode, but you lose so much by not being able to play the way you want.
-
60The only reason to buy a console monopoly game is having an online play, which this version lacks. The game itself is a solid monopoly when you are alone or you have lost your monopoly box.
-
50With Monopoly for the Xbox 360 you're actually getting a really fun and well thought through experience worthy of the table top version. This very fact makes the absence of an online mode incomprehensible since this is an experience not meant to have by yourself. Because of this omission the table top version still rules supreme.
-
50When it all boils down to it, the lack of multiplayer for this game is a huge disappointment and will probably be the main reason the game is not embraced by most folks.
-
A dull, expensive experience, but it's faithful to the board game, at least. Yawn. [Jan 2009, p.70]
-
What a colossal mistake! [Dec 2008, p.93]
