  1. If this is a genre you like or have been tempted to try out, N3 is a fantastic addition.
  2. Ninety-Nine Nights may be the best that the genre has to offer, but it also shows us that this style of game still has a long way to go. [Sept. 2006, p.96]

It just turns out to be an object example of how even the prettiest eye candy can't mask flawed mechanics for long, and how gameplay that aims for greatness can stumble and wind up slumming it in Mediocre Town.

The addition of perspective and emotional content comes out of left field, but is amazingly well done. It’s the rare button masher that can play on a person’s sympathies, and Nights proves it has both heart and brains to go with its mindless exterior.
  5. Most players will become annoyed and tired of the insulting gameplay and half-hearted design and put the game down for good after the first night of playing it.
  6. Disappointing. Everything about this title feels like it needs more work, from the cut-scenes to the broken A.I. of your allies.
  7. It is never made clear what the title “Ninety-Nine Nights” means. My guess is that it’s the suggested waiting period before purchasing this dangerous, infuriating, broken game.

This game has kept me hooked from the time I started playing it, until I beat it. I did get a little frustrated during some parts of the game, but I never felt that I was being cheated. I always had the kind of weapon I needed. But usually I would do something stupid and get killed. So then I would try some different button combinations and such, and next thing you know, I excel to the next level. N3 gets alot of respect points in my book. Because it doesn't let players become spoiled and get a "god" like complex, however it makes a player feel powerful in the game, but reminds them that they are not immortal. And that they wont just be able to blaze through everyone effortlessly. Expand

If you want to press one button a lot for a couple of hours, this is your game. If you want any kind of tactical depth, look elsewhere.

Good graphics but there's still a lot to improve on. Like the saving system!

Dynasty Warriors series does that much better... Expand
