  1. Whereas the show, Pimp My Ride, may be fun, the game is not. It gets close in the presentation but it fails miserably where it counts, in the gameplay.
  2. When running properly, Pimp my Ride is fun if you're into the show, but it will do little for the gearheads who are looking for something a little different in the racing genre. Snatch this one up if you're really into the TV show, Xzibit, or outlandishly customizing cars.
  3. Drive, crash, mini-game, repeat. Pimp My Ride is a licensed game for die-hard fans.
  4. No amount of Xzibit influence or ride pimpage can save Pimp My Ride from its god-awful minigames and lousy driving mechanics.
  5. When all is said and done Pimp My Ride feels like a budget title; a PS2 budget title at that and that is disappointing.
  6. It's a grind that's just not much fun to play, no matter how much ghost riding the whip takes place. Pimp My Ride falls a few rims shorts of a set.

Pimp My Ride has that budget-game smell, with its lack of any Xbox Live support and flimsy content.
  8. I honestly have to say that I had fun with this game just because the gameplay is so outrageously bad.
  9. If mind-numbingly easy repetition is what you enjoy in a game, knock yourself out.
  10. Not the worst game on 360 but it's not far off. Tedious, short and not much fun, if you want to pimp rides, we reckon you're better off sticking with "Need for Speed." [Issue # 16, p.94]
  11. Some subjects will just never translate well into videogames--like anything related to proctology, Paris Hilton, or, yes, MTV shows. [Feb. 2007, p.79]
  12. It looks like it's been lazily ported from the PlayStation 2 because, frankly, it has. [July 2007, p.103]

While the cutscenes do a nice job of capturing the energy of the Pimp My Ride TV show, the game design kills any chance this game had at being fun.
  14. It's pretty clear that Pimp My Ride is not aimed at us. And by "us" I mean "people who have at least a basic understanding of what makes a good game". It's the equivalent of a movie like Norbit or a TV show like...well, like Pimp My Ride.

Amazingly written and beautifully constructed, it's a complete emotional rollercoaster which we can't drawn any parallels with...You'll be playing this game for months to come, exchanging story elements to build up the bigger picture, and arguing about what it all means. ignore the haters Pimpy My Ride is a definite buy. 2. What is this?, I remember to the perfection the TV Show Pimp My Ride, and I never have the idea that someone can do a game, but sorprise Activision do a game of the TV Show, and what happen? Any good, the graphics are horrible, the cars are the only good in this title, the controls are strange, the gameplay is strange, the music is good, but the music and cars not be much for save this thing, that is a horrible form to kill the show. I could just leave this review by saying that the game is god awful and one of the worst games of the decade, but I guess I should more in depth before I come to the conculsion. Firstly is the overall look of the game. It looks like, well, crap. I'm serious, it looks like someone spend 3 seconds on the graphics and thought "Yep, nothing more we can do" Secondly is the minigames. Yes, minigames on a console that is not the Wii. That's like adding ham to a donut. It doesn't work. Need I also add that the minigames are repetative, boring and unrewarding? No, you knew that already. My sister's TV has better mingames. A crap version of Tetris (yes, it's really bad) Thirdly, is the cutscenes. The first two you see really reflect the show Pimp My Ride and make you think that it's a good game. The third one though, and you find out that it's the same cutscene over and OVER again. Finally, is the controls. One word, s***. All in all, I'm dissapointed that Activison, a series famous for great series's like Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero to put their name on this abomination. Four words; don't buy this game. Full Review »
