  1. Hardcore fans of the Prince of Persia series might want to pick this one up if you’re curious as to how the series began, but don’t expect a stellar experience like Sands of Time.
  2. The gameplay is the truest reason to download this game. Even though the hour-long aspect of the game could hinder replayability, you will from time to time wish to save the fair princess from the dastardly Grand Vizier.
  3. Survival mode is where it's at in terms of ultra-difficulty - completing all levels without a single death requires a superhuman level of dedication.

It's a beautiful remake and a testament to the longevity of smart game design; it's just not the must-buy it would be for a couple bucks less.

Prince of Persia Classic ought to serve as a template for all future XBLA remakes. It had great potential but needed a little extra refinement to broaden its appeal.
  6. Great production values but the unforgiving gameplay and loose controls don't sit well in 2007.

This is a lot less that what it would have originally cost you when the old version came out, so stop complaining! It is difficult, but you want to be challenged if you've just paid for something... Sure, it is frustrating, but for those of us enjoying a challenge, it is a blessing. Nice graphics, too. The only problem is the delayed responsiveness of the controls, but that was part of the original too, so... I'll bear with that. Full Review »
