  • Summary: Raven Squad puts players in control of two groups of mercenary squads who crash land behind enemy lines in the Amazonian jungles. It requires tactical planning and a liberal amount of brute force to escape to safety. Each of the eight squad members possesses distinctive skills and weaponry that the player has to use wisely to progress through the game's story driven objectives. Raven Squad sets itself apart by allowing players to switch freely between real-time strategy and first-person shooter gameplay.     Ultimately, Raven Squad has its share of problems, there is no denying that. On the same token, I can't say I didn't have a great time playing through it, even though it only took one sitting of about 5-6 hours.

    Raven Squad starts with a brilliant concept and doesn't bother to flesh it out into a fun or compelling game. It's practically a gift to competing developers. In that regard all it lacks is a note reading, "Here's a template for a hybrid FPS-RTS; do something useful with it, because we don't feel like it."

    Raven Squad sounded great on paper, and in many regards you could have forgiven poor graphics and dodgy sound if there was some flair and fun to be had with the gameplay. Sadly there is not.

    hillariosly cheesy script and intersting gameplay meet frustrating shooting and slapdash implementation.

    Lets start like this, you pick up a game in the store thinking, hey this game looks good, but when you put it in your game console to play, your eyes and ears begins to hurt. Well that's the case of this game. Bad controls, bad voice over, bad gameplay, horrible AI, its just that bad. If you wish to play this game, well go check it out. Buy i wouldn't recommended.     its one of the worst games ive ever played, dont buy it, rent it or even play it. horrible mechanics, incredibly unrealistic characters, and voices. it makes me wonder if evolved games put any effort at all into it… Expand
