  1. Soundtrack worthy of a Danny Ocean and Tarantino showdown. [Feb 2008, p.80]

Rocketbowl is not a title to just brush off. It has a lot of features to it that are fun and exciting. Getting your friends online to have an online tournament and show off your skills you honed from the single player.
  3. It’s far from perfect, but the simplicity of bowling is mixed up with fresh ideas, crazily constructed courses and a quick clip at which to play.
  4. At its core, RocketBowl is a unique and potentially delightful mini-game. Unfortunately, much like the balls and lanes at a cheap alley, the end result could use more polish.
  5. There’s a lot to keep you going in Rocket Bowl, but it’s sort of a one-trick pony. There are a lot of courses, but not much overall variety from one to the next.
  6. Despite the things RocketBowl gets right, most players are more likely to pick up on this thread of general lack of ambition over anything else.
  7. RocketBowl reinvents bowling through the introduction of rockets and minigolf-style courses, but isn't nearly as much fun as it sounds.

It’s a nice idea and it’s fun for a few rounds, but it’s boring as heck after that.
  9. You can sort of see how the concept for Rocket Bowl must have seemed like a good idea, and for a few minutes it's certainly interesting to play around and enjoy the admittedly good physics.
  10. Rocket Bowl takes two relatively boring video game genres and creates an entirely new boring genre from them.

Rocket Bowl can be a brief and pleasant diversion for minigolf fans or those who enjoy the idea of fantasy bowling with a new set of rules, but others may want to ball outta control elsewhere.
  12. Admittedly it's not inherently bad or broken, but your mileage will depend almost entirely on how much you like bowling, mini-golf and/or if you have either of the other two systems' bowling games.

How a game which looks like this can have a framerate like THAT is beyond us. Knock yourself out, though. [Apr 2008, p.96]
  14. All in all RocketBowl has a great idea of what a bowling game can do to appeal to someone who isn’t a big fan of the sport, but fails to use it at any level.

Does Microsft not realise how insulting it is to release past free flash games as pay-to-download XBLA content? [Issue#37, p.116]
