    While the game's a lot of fun, it's easy to get burned out. If this were in an arcade, you would walk away broke after the first few levels, when the game is at its hardest. At home, however, you have infinite continues and might be tempted to try to grind your way through the game. Seriously -- don't.
  3. In general, the camera is what's keeping Rocketmen from being a ton of fun. But it's still a nice diversion.

  12. Rocketmen mixes cel-shaded graphics with serialized space adventure to provide a twist to old-school, top-down shooting.

    The half-hearted RPG nods, quixotic story treatment and frustrating camera detract from a core of solid gameplay. The basics are there, but Rocketmen's problems overshadow the basic shoot-em-up beneath.

  22. A missed opportunity to do something with the Wizkids' licence. Such a shame, XBLA really doesn't need yet another twin-stick shooter, even one with RPG pretensions.
  23. The game itself isn’t much fun, regardless of the number of players. With its plodding, monotonous pace and scattered presentation, Rocketmen doesn’t do enough to separate itself from the seemingly infinite number of other dual joystick shooters available via Xbox Live Arcade or the PlayStation Network.

  27. It's a crude and unappealing game, marred by at least three design decisions (the scrolling, the time-limited weapons, the long-winded upgrade system) that immediately make the gameplay a grind rather than a blast.
