Singularity is a game that manages to feel like its own thing despite being pieced together from previous FPS games, and if you want a great Summer shooter full of violent toys and silly super powers, then you won't get much better than this. Quite possibly the best new FPS of the year so far.
This is a time-travelling FPS done right and it's too bad that the game lacks any sort of hype, as it is a much stronger showing than a lot of recently released FPS titles, multiplayer aside. If you like guns, Soviet world domination, and a time-hopping protagonist, then I would recommend taking a peek at the game.

This is a great game. It may take its ques from Bioshock, and be your traditional first person shooter, but believe me, its worth playing. The story my sound corny, and honestly, it is a little, but while you are playing it, you will have great fun.

With Singularity, developer Raven Software combines solid FPS gameplay with an engrossing storyline revolving around time manipulation. The single player campaign's strong narrative and exciting firefights make Singularity a thrilling experience worthy of a place in your collection.
Singularity isn't a groundbreaking shooter, but it's an incredibly fun one. This is an example of how fluid pacing and a tongue-in-cheek attitude can make old conventions exciting again.
The innovative time-altering gameplay falls a wee bit short of our expectations and there aren't any outstanding parts throughout the rest of the game either. But Raven Software know their trade and although their new game is lacking in absolute blasts, Singularity makes up for a nice pastime and satisfies with its plain good old-school gameplay.
Although its core shooter gameplay is enjoyable, Singularity suffers from being far more derivative than original, with elements appropriated from at least a dozen other, better games.
Singularity is the very definition of average, and the lack of subtitles knocks it just below. It is the gaming equivalent of white rice, the Ford Focus, and black coffee. Its taste is decidedly bland, but it'll do its job.
A very underrated game that does borrow from the best in class including Half Life, BioShock, even Resident Evil and Prey but does so with some additions of its own, mainly time manipulation. The result is a really solid shooter with a unique story.
Graphics: Well done for 2010
Sound: Excellent sound and sound effects.
Soundtrack: Immersive and well paced and not overwhelming, perhaps a bit too understated at times.
Voice: Well acted throughout, but not incredible.
Game Play: Excellent game play with some unique weapons and very good shooting mechanics and the Time Manipulation Device (TMD) is really interesting to use. There are some puzzles but not terribly difficult or complex.
If you enjoy narrative shooters this is a definite purchase and if you are on the fence I would urge you to borrow or rent it as its worth playing.

Singularity is a Xbox360/PS3 generation game. Now such games are no longer made. Singularity can hardly be called an AAA game, but it is a good 2-3-night shooter with a typical plot and Russian flavor. From the carricaturism of Russian culture you can catch kringe. Yes, at the beginning, Singularity can deceive and seem like a Sci-Fi shooter and even a little horror. But as soon as the player is given a machine gun and 20 dumb bots, which simply run at the player, it becomes clear that Raven have taken the bar lower for themselves. It's just a bullfighting shooter. Singularity takes a lot from Call of Duty, it is felt both in gamelpei and in design. It's just that there's a cheap Sci-Fi entourage. And if you accept Singularity as it is and do not pay attention to the chamber of what is happening and Russophobia, you can really enjoy the game. Singularity looks more interesting now than when it was released in 2010. Now such short games without Openworld and microtransactions cannot be found.

This game is oozing with a distinct atmosphere & interesting story, creates immersion for the player and it does this nicely. It has bugs though, and while original in a few ways it still felt a bit repetitive to me. This is a good shooter, but I'd prefer Half life or Bioshock.

This game while underplayed, truly has something going for it, even if that little something happens to be borrowing from the giant that is Bioshock. The premise is simple enough: soldier fights mutants with a Time Manipulation Device, Russian bad guys, and everything goes into timey wimey goodness. Don't get me wrong the story while nothing to write home about, is still popcorny enough to keep me pushing. This is because the gameplay elevates the game into its best because it's falling into a familiar rabbit hole. The plasmids, I mean time powers are incredibly unique, but the controls are weirdly configured to those specific powers. Nonetheless, the shooting feels well done if not underwhelming. You can explore the story through audio logs, radio messages, and environmental cues a-la Bioshock. It's a mix that is hard to fail and Raven Software got it pretty damn close. The game is massively fun if you go in expecting nothing. As it is, Singularity has rough graphics for an Unreal 3 Engine, but it does a decent enough job to make some of the monsters somewhat teriffying. It's one of the more underrated games out there, and I'm glad I played it.

have had this game on my to-do list for some time and finally got around to giving it a play through, dear lord such a let down, after enjoying the 2 bioshock games this game is just a mess of a clone in the horror fps genre. The game starts so atmospherically great, really good music, sound effects, films playing get you right in the mood, but once you are maybe an hour into it they have completely run out of ideas for horror and it is just dropped from the game completely, all atmosphere replaced with gun fights vs helicopters of the 2 types of soldier you will fight in this game... and it just goes on and on and on for hours. towards the end they try and wrap it up with some few bits and pieces which to be honest, after 2 hours of gunning down soldiers with a minigun, to randomly click on a tape player in a room and see dead guy faces flash on the screen with screaming was pretty shocking.... but you could say the same about anything, if I was watching my little pony for 2 hours and someone jumped up and said BOO it would be a bloody shock to you. Awful awful pacing from this campaign.
Now on the technical side the game fails so horribly in so many areas, there are so many rounded models through this game, columns etc which while they look round in the gameworld they have a square shape to them where the corners of the square are just being blocked by invisible walls. horrible that no one bothered to go and clean up some of these models so they actually felt like they looked to the player. The person who decided subtitles were too much to ask for in this game should have been shot, it is made especially bad by the fact that they didn't decide to fully steal the audio logs from bioshock so when you click them on the ground you have to stay near it to hear the full thing, and if there is any explosions which muddle the sound you have to wait for the thing to end before you can start it again since there are no subs to fill in gaps. Other great uses of sound in this game come in the form of every phone and typewriter in the game that has the mouse over que to hear what a phone dial tone sounds like and a typewriter going DING. really game? while running past a table with a first aid kit and a typewriter on it mashing X as I go past it you really wanna make me think that the character stops for a second to end off a line of typing and make it go ding while being chased down by a load of hungry zombie esq things? pointless, just whoever thought to have them as things you can "interact / hear a sfx" from these items has no idea what makes a game decent. Another prize goes to the person who added the help text when you go to snipe with the sniper rifle in the game, okie a bit of text comes on screen to let you know how to slow down time, okie I got it.... I'll snipe someone else, hmmm that help text is there again, right in the middle of the scope... and the only way to get rid of it is to use the move its saying, no options anywhere to turn this dummy text off, any time you want to take out the sniper rifle you have to look past this text to fire down scope, or you have to be using the slow time move.... saying that if you scope the gun, and use up your slow down time move... of which you have no indication of when it will refill you still get that text and you can't use the move so you can't get rid of it. awful seriously ruins that gun from being of any use in the game.
that's all this game is tho, a bunch of half decent ideas or copied ideas but without any finishing touches on it, there is no polish at all used on this thing. and it's such a let down for what could have been a rival to bioshock.
