One of the best Sonic games ever get a splendid re-release with everything intact and a few good extras. This is a history lesson that every gamer should enjoy.

Sonic CD is a labor of love, and for fans, it is a chance to finally play this often talked-about game. If you enjoy classic Sonic games, this is a must own. The amount of polish that went into it is impressive, especially for the low price tag. Sega may have soiled Sonic's name in previous years, but after Generations and now this, I think he is back on the right track to glory.

Given the countless enhancements to this version of Sonic CD, it's surprising that Sega is selling it for a mere $5. Make no mistake: no corners have been cut, and the developers have put in more than enough extra content (in the form of audio and video options) to properly pay tribute to Sonic's finest spin.

This is a gift for Sonic fans. It is not only one of the best Sonic games ever made, but also a great port and adaptation, something not that frequent. Its price is also helpful to recommend it. Although the game doesn't have any improvement in graphics, they have aged well.

Basically, I love this game. And I love it in a way that both fans and Sonic CD newcomers should be able to love it too. Fans will love the care and attention given to the conversion of one of the all-time great Sonic games.

Sonic CD is a great game. I paid $300 for an attachment and $50 for the game back in the early '90s to see Sonic at his best. Now all you need is $5 and a few minutes for a file download. Sega could have easily charged twice as much for this much-loved classic.

It's pretty much the perfect Sonic! [March 2012, p.93]

This game was amazing BEFORE it's well-deserved remake. The new engine allows the game to run smoothly (even in the special stages) - it supports wide screen, and has a vast array of other options (old/new spindash, JP/US soundtrack, screen filters) that allow you to tune the game to your liking. The achievements encourage multiple play-throughs, and unlockables will keep you busy a while after that.

Over all, an EXCELLENT remake - I can only hope sega will continue the current upward trend - Here's hoping they'll give the Genesis trilogy the same treatment!

This is the best version ever made of Sonic CD, a masterpiece of platforms games. It's very cheap and it has been improved in every aspect. Visually has a wide-screen 16:9 ratio and HD pixel filters. For the first time you can choose either the American or the Japanese soundtrack, and every theme is perfectly looped. Game-play has improved as well, you can choose between the Sonic CD or the Mega Drive Spin Dash, Tails is playable and the whole game runs at 60 fps, which are helpful on the Special Stages.

This is the best version of the best Sonic game, and it's really cheap, so I recommend this game to every Sonic fan and all gamers of platforming games.
