The right way to update a classic.

Strider's pacy combat cuts deep and its challenge escalates at a consistently rewarding rate. [Apr 2014, p.74]

A modern version of Strider brings out ultimately. It brings stylish gaming setting, hordes of remarkable enemies, and a great action that never gets boring.

This Strider Reboot is a complete success. Frantic, quite difficult and deeper than its predecessors, thanks to a Metroid-like structure, it brings Hiryu back to life with style.

The new Strider isn't maybe the best example of a balanced metroidvania style, but ultimately represents a good actualization of a classic that could have been too old for modern standards.

By combining classic Strider elements with a new Metroidvania structure and speedrun tilt, Strider in 2014 is fresh, relevant and fun.

Strider fans and speed-run aficionados will get the most out of this but for everyone else, this is a solid, fast-paced platformer that never lets the pace dip long enough for you to become too bored. [Issue#146, p.104]

A sensitive update for a series many thought would stay stuck in the past.

this is with out a doubt equal or better than strider 2, it has good combat, cool upgrades, the only thing i find wrong with this game is that it deletes your save after you beat the game, making it hard to go back for upgrades. Full Review »

Anyone who likes classic and/or metroidvania games will absolutely love this. It's a blast to play, feels incredible, and offers very different upgrades - unlike modern shooters where each gun just shoots a little different, the different cyphers offer completely new functions. My only gripes are that the game doesn't look all too great on current gen, but that is due to console limitations, entering the final boss area prevents you from getting any collectables you may have missed, and there is no New Game Plus. It's cheap, it's fun, and it'll last you a while if you're trying for 100%. Full Review »

Its a classic done right! brought back some awesome memories from back in the day. Some may complain about the bosses being to hard but guess games were harder back then. Full Review »
