  1. It's got all of the classic gameplay of its predecessor, and most of the graphics are terrific. Couple this with some excellent music, and you definitely have a winner. Unfortunately, the incredibly high level of difficulty is going to turn off almost everyone except the most hardcore of gamers.

This game was pushed out for the sake of pushing it out, and no effort was made to make it the best game it could possibly be. Take pride in your creations. Full Review »

An absolute joke of a release and waste of money regardless the price. Shamelessly crapped out as a quick money grab during the XBLA's infancyAn absolute joke of a release and waste of money regardless the price. Shamelessly crapped out as a quick money grab during the XBLA's infancy this game does nothing to truly enhance or refine the original arcade release, such as including widescreen support, improve the graphics (the "enhanced" mode actually just makes things difficult to see), update the god-awful controls or provide any extended stages. There are a million things to nitpick, such as the delay when aiming, short range of fire during top-down stages and an inability to differentiate weapon drops, but I'd only be wasting my time. In short, if you're looking for great Contra action stick to the classic NES versions of Contra and Super C, Contra 3 Alien Wars on the SNES or the more recent Contra 4 on Nintendo DS and be sure to avoid this putrid XBLA arcade port at all costs.
