  • Summary: Super Time Force is a frantic, hyper-action videogame filled with total mayhem, total madness and total non-stop shooty-shooty-bam-bam destruction. And yet, it also has super sweet, soothing, perhaps even sublime, moments of sloooow motion. Every level in Super Time Force contains 3 mysterious inter-dimensional objects called Shards, which can be used to control the flow of time, slowing it down like velvety smooth molasses, allowing players to unleash a truly heroic level of dodging, weaving, sniping and precision acrobatics. Super Time Force is a satisfying run-and-gun game made even better with a fun (and funny!) take on time travel. It's as enjoyable to play as it is to look at. You'll likely be able to burn through the game in a few hours if you're not going for full completion, but it has such a winning personality that you'll find yourself coming back for more.

Its novel use of mechanics, its comic writing, and its retro aesthetics make Super Time Force a sure bet for those in search of light entertainment.

Any way it's sliced, Super TIME Force is an excellent effort from an excellent developer, and a bullet-rich, chuckle-worthy feather in Capy's cap. Well done.

It's exhausting, but when it all clicks it's amazing, too.

As a brand new run-and-gun game it’s a simple one, but add the time manipulation mechanics and it becomes an incredibly refreshing take on an age-old genre. Awesome, dumb fun with a very clever twist.

Super Time Force reminds us of side-scrolling shooters from the past, but don't let this fool you: it is a completely unique game on itself. Its combination of shooting and tactical thinking can be quite frustrating at times, but it's entertaining enough to keep you playing for hours. Just don't forget the time.

It's hard not to feel that the game would have been better served by slightly slowing down the pace of its basic shooting elements. At times, it feels as much like a spatial puzzle as it does a test of your reflexes. The best spatial puzzles, though, allow for a measure of patience and consideration. As a twitchy shooter, Super Time Force never lets you catch your breath and stand firm in time, leaving you under ceaseless pressure.

Super Time Force is an old fashioned side scrolling 2D shooter with a clever twist, time travel!

The player is only given around 60 seconds
to complete each level but at any point during a stage the player can rewind time, choose another (or the same) character, and then fight alongside your previous run through the level. The shooting mechanics themselves could only be described as competent but thanks to this unique concept, which is put to good use by the way levels are designed, Super Time Force makes for a great little title.

This is exactly what Xbox Arcade games should be, four to five hours of originality.
