This game is Tekken perfection. I haven't taken it online yet, but I am more than happy with the content already provided to me. The Ghost Battles are endlessly entertaining, the Scenario Campaign is better than I thought it would be and is being unfairly bashed in my opinion. There is a metric ton of items to unlock, the fighting is just polished to perfection and the game is just overall massive fan service to long time Tekken players. If you have ever liked Tekken in the past, or just want a new fighter... get this game. Expand

Tekken 6 is a great fighting game. It's very complex and deep fighting system will have people playing it for a while if they are committed into getting better at it. In every Tekken squeal, they reveal a new chapter of the story, new fighters and moves in your bag of tricks to master. the customization since the fifth Tekken game has increase significantly, you can custom the character to the point that it looks like an entirely different character. But it isn't a FASHION SHOW, it's a fighting game! The online IS the where the serious Tekken player can be very competitive where your skills are strained. You are also ranked and your wins and loses are recorded and displayed to you opponents and to Tekken leaderboard browsers. But then you WILL learn in the biggest on concept of Tekken 6 is strategy and anticipation. The story goes can go as deep as just watching a HI-Res cut scene of whatever fighter you completed the arcade with BUT it's goes even further in Scenario Campaign Mode which is like Tekken Force Mode but times 20 (Online CoOP capable). You see some of the 40 fighters involved in the story plot of a new family member of the Mishima family and Dr. B's new creation to stop evil. I couldn't follow the story much.....I just wanted to make bank for customization. A few NEW systems are added to Tekken 6. Juggling is also a primary concept in Tekken 6. Attacking opponents while they are in midiair, it's hard to explain but you could go on the internet and searcj for Tekken 6 combos and see for yourself. This system is ABUSED in online mode. Rage Mode is when your fighter is near defeat. It's health bar glows red showing your fighter is PISSED! Expand

I love Tekken. I loved it the moment I played the Tekken 2 demo that came bundled with my Playstation. When I bought Tekken 3 I thought it was the best game ever made. From that moment on, Tekken – to me- was all about “speed”. Within seconds of putting the disc in, you where in the main menu. In half a second you were picking your fighter, then with a mere 3 seconds of loading, the fight was underway! Each battle runs at a lightning fast 60 frames per second. Press Start and Select together and your back at the main menu with no loading screen at all. On top of this fast accessibility, the graphics where amazing. No other games on the Playstation boasted so much detail, at such a fast frame rate. As time went on and the hardware got more advanced Tekken maintained this trend. Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken 4, Tekken 5 and Tekken Dark Resurrection all had fast loading and envelope pushing visuals. Then came Tekken 6. The first Tekken running on new technology in 8 years. I put in the disc and I’m presented with the one word I thought I’d never see in a Tekken game. ‘LOADING’, oh dear. Not only this, but the dreaded word hangs on the screen for a little too long. It gets worse in the fighter selection menu. As I highlight each fighter, they appear as their in game model like in Tekken Tag. But they take so long to appear, it’s not even worth it. I pick a character and I hear ‘get ready for the next battle!’. Then it sits there for about ten seconds, which in Tekken years is way too long. Then The fight starts and the graphics are pretty crappy. The characters all look like wax work models and native resolution sits the wrong side of 720p, making every thing look jagged and blurry. On top of that, the music is boring and all the arenas bar two of them, are total dump. This isn’t the Tekken I remember. This is a dated, ugly game with unbalanced fighters, a rubbish final boss, poor loading times, bland menus too many characters and a really lazy beat ‘em up style single player campaign. Which despite being a half-baked extra, seems to be the main feature. It sits at the top of the menu and it’s the fastest way to earn the gold you need to access new clothing and attributes for your fighter. Maybe Namco/Bandai put that in there to make the main game look good by comparison. Someone who loves Tekken buying this game, would be like someone who loves their dog buying a DVD in which it gets kicked. Tekken Tag 2 is on it’s way now, and if it doesn’t look better and load a hell of a lot faster, then I’m throwing in my iron studded red gloves for good. Expand

Tekken 6 is a worthy successor of the Tekken tittle. Despite it's different story mode, it fills you with the action that the past Tekken games had. Werther you play alone in the story mode, ghost mode, online or versus with your friends the game is enjoyable as ever. The characters are all unlocked by the time you put your disc inside the console, also the Xbox 360 version of the game has notably a really quicker loading than the PlayStation 3 version. (thus, the graphics are the same) The plot, fills you with the past games, and yes, like the past few Tekken games each character has their own purpose and reasons to join into the Iron Fist Tournament. The main story focuses on the adventure of Lars, though you can choose with which character you play. (the dialog may change depending on the characters personality, though in the videos, Lars is always shown) Your side-kick is the robotic girl named Alisa. Tekken 6 is a worthy game for any collection, and I recommended it if you're a fan of Versus modes and arcade, fighting games. The best way to play this game, is to have a few friends over. Expand

The story mode seems to have been hastily assembled and the graphics on it look very dated, but where Tekken 6 really shines is in all its other features, from the very robust online play, to the endlessly fun versus modes. In addition I have to say the physics on this game and the rendered animations are simply astounding. The hits look so real and feel real, especially in the end match slow-motion recaps. Its amazing. I've loved every minute of this game. I just wish story mode was better. Expand

Tekken 6 is a well needed upgrade from Tekken 5: DR. The graphics make it the most visually appealing fighting game, and huge combo lists add to the play styles for each character. The bound system, is also a nice new addition, allowing players to make their old juggles much longer and more punishing. If your looking for a good fighter, I highly recommend Tekken 6. Just avoid the scenario campaign mode. It's easily the worst feature Tekken 6 has to offer. Expand

There's nothing wrong with Tekken 6's gameplay per se. The "bound" system is a fresh addition; the characters shine on 1080P capable XBOX360 and PS3; and it's fun overall, but they botched the console port. Scenario campaign is the worst kind of filler; you can't rank up past 1st dan in Ghost Mode (which is what gave Tekken DR on the PSP most of its replay value); Arcade mode is an afterthought at best; and the ending cinematics are the dullest in the franchise. Rent, don't buy. For a balanced, fun fighting game, wait for Super Street Fighter IV. Expand

I've played this game and all I can say about it is: "WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!"; Unballanced fighters, crappy playability, pretty lame graphics, annoying and continuous cutscenes. Thats the worst fighting game I ever played on my 360; looks like an old pstwo game. If you have a 360 and you do like fighting games, don't buy this one; you have better choices.

Super Street Fighter 4, Street Fighter 4, Virtual Fighter 5, Soul Calibur 4, what do they all have in common? They are all far superior to Tekken 6. Do not get me wrong, Tekken 6 is probably the most fun to pick up and play for newcomers, and has the second best online features behind SF4/SSF4. But ultimately the unbalanced fighters and the extremely stupid cheap moves a barely able player can pull off are just terrible! The fighting is broken when a player is 'cornered', and don't get me started on the single player!!!! I kid you not, it is the WORST single player on a fighting game I have ever played! Utterly pointless and yet goes on seemingly forever, yet with absolutely no purpose behind it. So ultimately if you like cheesy fighting with a tedious campaign mode, play Tekken 6. Tekken 5 which is far better in my opinion. Expand

This is gonna be short and sweet. This game is a joke. When it premiered at E3 a few years back, we all marveled at the visuals, they were amazing. Now we get the game and it looks like hammered dog-crap. Jagged, pixelated characters. Bland environments with simple textures. Blurry menu screens. Come on, Virtua Fighter 5 came out in 2006 and looks much better than this, even Namco's other fighter Soul Caliber 4 which came out long before this looks better. Terrible. As for the gameplay, it is the same game you've been playing for years with little added or taken away. If you're playing against others its fine, but against the AI, even on the lower difficulties you're gonna be upset. AI opponents bring a near-perfect game, sometimes they cheat, and they are always cheap. This was fine years ago but games have evolved, how about giving us an end boss that is challenging because he's smart, not because he always blocks, his moves cannot be blocked, he can kill you with three moves, and he is psychic. Lame. There is a scenario mode, which is boring, repetitious and ugly to look at. There isn't a whole lot to unlock except stuff for your fighter to wear, I guess playing paper-dolls is fun for adults in Japan. Creepy. When compared to any other fighter, this game can't stand up visually, in terms of gameplay or content. The story is ludicrous, the gameplay is dated, and the graphics are laughable. If you're in it for the multiplayer you might get some value out of this. But if you would also like some single-player action you're out of luck, there isn't much here and what little there is is tedious. Oh, and ripping off Street Fighter characters isn't cool Namco. I'll stick with Tekken 5, it is better than this is in every way. This gets a 2 for having decent online and because there is nothing functionally wrong with the game. Expand

This game encompasses everything good about tekken and more. If you're a fan of fighters in general do yourself a favor and pick this up. Me and my friends play this game for hours and never get bored. Some characters are easier to use then others like Eddy and Alisa but i wouldnt say theres any unfair characters. Balanced well with great graphics, sound and excellent control, seeing as its probably like 10 dollars used now i would say definitely try it out. Expand

Its funny because Tekken 6 is the first Tekken game to go mulitplatform and its the worst installment in the series. Hopefully they return exclusive to the PlayStation brand where Tekken belongs.

Tekken 6 has a lot to offer, including a massive roster, refined gameplay, plenty of modes, online multiplayer and an absurd amount of character customization options.

It is slick in production, providing a lot of what one could reasonably ask for in a fighting game. The game is as accessible as ever, pretty to look at and arcade-perfect to a T.
  3. Tekken 6 is probably the best fighting game from this generation.
