With enough variation of modes to opt for, including the new story-type mode Fight Lab (which is rather short, although it will help gamers learn the game's moves), Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has enough fighting gameplay for single-player and same-console multiplayer entertainment, especially with the strong controls and impressive visuals. However, the utter dismalness of Xbox Live (lack of) gameplay delivers a double-fisted punch to the face of Tekken Tag Tournament 2's quality.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is often cheap and barebones. However, it's also one of the most comprehensive fighting games I've ever played. With 59 characters and thousands of moves, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has been specifically designed with fans in mind. Newcomers will also enjoy the large roster and cinematic endings, but may find the online multiplayer unwelcoming!

Even when this one is more the first Tekken Tag spin-off than anything else you will enjoy it because of its flawless fight system and "eternal" playability. [Oct 2012]

Finally, visually the game is simply outstanding, one of the best looking games to grace the Xbox 360. It runs perfectly, with animations that are simply awe-inspiring and tag-team switchovers which look simply stunning. This may not be the ideal game for those select few 'hardcore' fighting fans, for the rest of the world Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is by far the best choice in its genre.

It has been a long wait for another Tekken Tag Tournament game, but the wait was well worth it!

Tekken games seldom disappoint, but TTT2 is the best in years. [Issue#89,p.73]

With its vast array of characters, its solid online play, the online World Tekken Federation, and its breadth of modes, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has much to offer making it one heck of a solid fighting game. I expect that folks will be tooling around with all that it has to offer for quite some time.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a very good game overall and gives you a ton of fighters to play as and many ways to play with them in the game. It's the fastest-paced entry in the series and will test your fighting game mettle very quickly both online and off.

My time with Tekken Tag Tournament 2 truly felt like an arcade without the frustration of losing my allowance in quarters.

An impressive online mode, a lot of playable characters and a well integrated tag team-mechanic guarantees a lot of thrilling fights. Though it's hard to get into the game if you're not already accustomed to the series.

Tekken Tag Tournament is the most polished and well thought through part in the Tekken series. It doesn't matter if you're playing alone or together: everything is about fun and competition. And the lack of gimmicks, like a story mode, show that this game doesn't need anything more than strong core gameplay.

Just like its predecessor, Tekken Tag 2 gathers everything that makes the series great and improves it. A must buy if you are a fan of the series and if you're not this is an opportunity to get to know it.

I'd love to tell you that Namco has breathed a ton of new life into this ailing franchise with TTT2, but it's just not really the case. It's still a fantastic fighting game that will sell plenty of copies to the series' fans, but it's not a fantastic choice to start with if you're looking to get into fighting games.

Driven by an incredibly tight and accurate fighting engine you'll find only minor flaws – but quite a few of those like the online mode that can't compare to the likes of BlazBlue. But even with all the rough edges, this is Tekken in its purest form.

In general, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 should be seen as a master class for Tekken devotees, and is certainly one of the best titles the genre has to offer.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a great 3D Fighting Game. Namco's game presents a really dream match with over 50 characters, new tag system combo and great variety of game modes.

TTT2 might simply be seen as a (huge) collection of characters and stages for Tekken fans, but it's much more: the Fight Lab's got great potential for Namco's brawler newcomers, while the new tactical approach reached by the Tag interactions and the many available modes – including a strong if basic online support - will keep the interest high for every Tekken fan.

Great fighting, as usual from Namco. But it feels like an expansion for Tekken 6.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 delivers the largest playable roster ever with more than 50 new and returning characters. The great fighting engine provides advanced attack mechanics, ultimate combo move sets and blazing new tag-throws and tag-combos! Up to 4 players can each control a character and experience well balanced offline and online multiplayer battles. Get ready and challenge your friends in 2-on-2 tag-team battles or 1-on-1 and 1-on-2 matches in one of the best fighting games today.

The closest the fighting genre has come to recapturing the spirit of ye olde classic Capcom vs SNK 2, in that this feels aimed directly at the hearts of fans rather than at their wallets. It's the closest any series has come to a 'best of' album, and is a fitting tribute to the legacy of the series thus far.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is definitely a solid package. The robust cast of fighters, ample amount of stages and sheer plethora of content make it worth the price of admission alone. Factor in the depth of the fighting and promised DLC, and you have a game that could occupy you for a long, long time.

In conclusion, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a game that you'll come back to time and time again due to the strong gaming mechanics and great graphics. This 3D fighter with all its detail manages to keep the game almost locked in at 60 frames per second which creates this true arcade experience in the comfort of your own home. With gameplay to die for, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a game that all fans of 3D fighters will love.

Had Tekken Tag Tournament 2 come with more side modes and an end boss that actually gave you a chance to win the game without killing yourself, it would've been something of legend. But even with these flaws, it's still one of the best fighting games out there.

TTT2 offers a lot in terms of features, but its single player offerings in terms of actual gameplay are still largely owed to its arcade roots. It's simple, and while features like customization and in-depth training offer more for console users, that's probably the game's greatest flaw.

Accessible but sophisticated, whacky yet charming. Best Tekken of this generation.

But it's only truly great if you're playing against like-minded, similarly skilled opposition. If you can rustle up a community of people that fit that bill, go nuts, it's a great time. But if you're a Tekken neophyte hoping to pick it up along the way, you'll probably be brutally rebuffed by what you find.

As a catchall franchise compilation, Tekken Tag 2 works for fans who aren't seeking anything too radically different, delivering plenty of fighters and solid fun, even if it's traversing well-worn territory.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 doesn't overhaul the franchise's format, instead opting to retain the series' already-solid gameplay and avoid extraneous modes that detract from the core fighting focus.

This is Tekken's thesis statement, in a sense – the complete distillation of everything the series ever was and everything it is now, which just so happens to be everything I could possibly want in a fighter.

With Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Katsuhiro Harada proposes a good sequel to the successful fighting game released on PS2. The gameplay mechanics are still intuitive but leave room for improvement. Thanks to the Tag Crash and the Tag Assault attacks, the fighting sequences are now mostly well-balanced. Moreover, with tons of playable characters and the new World Tekken Federation, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a clearly the kind of title that a lot of players will enjoy, especially when it comes to building communities around it.

It's the biggest Tekken in terms of roster, the most graphically advanced so far, but its lack of structural innovations and story mode make it a product dedicated mostly to the fans. An almost nostalgic celebration of the past, but with a good implementation of new online features.

If any one aspect deserves a special shout-out, it's TTT2's music, which is primarily phenomenal. You know that awesome African safari stage from Super Street Fighter IV, with the amazingly catchy melody? Imagine if every other stage had such a mesmeric, enthralling score, and you've got TTT2's soundtrack in a nutshell.

It plays it a little safe in places and lacks a truly killer single-player mode, but by broadening the versatility of the tag system while dramatically improving the online functionality, Namco has crafted a new teamwork seminar that builds upon the original in almost all the areas that matter.
  34. 80
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 doesn't offer quite enough over its predecessor to warrant any sort of classic status, but it's unquestionably another masterful piece of work from a team who have been doing this sort of thing forever.

Time will tell if it can hold up in real world conditions, but I found myself playing comfortably against American players, which felt remarkable in a world where Tekken 6 became a stuttering, wheezing mess as soon as you even considered taking it on the Internet.

The ONLY question you should ask yourself before buying this game is:

Are you good in fighting games...good enough to handle the steep
learning curve that Tekken T.T. 2 moves have to offer? If your answer happens to be a "yes" then be prepared, because this is no walk in the park. This game will consume most of your time making you either be really good at it or have you quit out of frustration and never look back.

Tekken T.T 2 is certainly NOT FOR THE CASUAL GAMER that might want to pick it up and have fun right out the package alas the Dead or Alive series. It's obvious that the developers made this with the intention of making you understand fully how the mechanics of the game really work...but at the expense of having the curious/amateur gamer run away from it. IN REALITY WE HAVE GIRLFRIENDS / BOYFRIENDS, FAMILY MEMBERS THAT ARE NOT GOOD AT ALL IN FIGHTING GAMES THAT WOULD LIKE TO TRY IT FOR FUN AND GET THE MECHANICS DOWN IN QUICK AND FUN MANNER....UNFORTUNATELY, TEKKEN T.T.2 IS NOT FOR THEM...and that's why It's very hard for me to give this new entry a higher score just because of that...

Part of me is glad to see the developers stuck to the technicalities of what Tekken is suppose to be...BUT then it also makes me realize that games like this one narrows everything down to a small number of people that are already good at the game (or to the true persistent) NOT GIVING MUCH OF A CHANCE TO THE CASUAL GAMER TO FALL IN LOVE WITH IT. Assuming you're great at Tekken or fighting games in general, then this game is your dream come true, it's full of options to customize your character, plenty of characters to choose from and good graphics, but then how much fun is to play a fighting game on your own if you can't play it with just anyone...unless you fake it and let them win every time they smash the buttons trying to pull off any of the unfriendly combos system.

    You have been WARNED!

It's the best fighting game that have been ever made!! In comparison to Mortal Kombat that has been very very ridiculous in story and stupid game play, This game is superb! Item Moves is really the thing you can enjoy with! Huge set of costumes and advanced settings to set colors are the most interesting parts that makes this game really enjoying and you won't be tired playing it all night long!
New characters such as Forest and Jun are fantastic and you'll enjoy playing them. Also if you have DLC characters you can experience more superb characters and great movements in this game!
If you are a real fighter and enjoy fighting games, this game is the best choice for you!
