Aside from those minor complaints, The Adventures of Shuggy is a superb 2D platformer deserving of a much wider audience (the leaderboards paint a slightly depressing picture of the game's sales to date). Smudged Cat Games have created a game with heart, intelligence and a mansion-load of well-applied ideas.

You should keep your head cool to master these hot puzzle challenges – nice graphics and ideas as well as an motivating coop-mode.

This old-school platformer is given a twist. [Sept 2011, p.87]

I did not enjoy my time with The Adventures of Shuggy. The platforming kept me from properly enjoying the puzzles, while the game tried to keep me from even seeing all the puzzles the game had to offer. It was more like work than any videogame should be, and egregiously overpriced work at that.

  1. Really fun, an XBLA must buy! The controls feel tight, the platforming is fun, the aesthetic's theme is really cute yet cool at the same time, and the game is loaded with content. It's a great buy if you're looking for a new platforming. Worth every penny no matter the price. Expand
  2. Good old fashion platforming fun and in coop it gets even better. There are so many levels and each level is unique and great fun! Brought it cheap on special and have not regretted it since. Collapse
