This is a placeholder review until I make my full review. That being said, at launch I would've given the game a 9.5 or so given the problems it had. Now, after tons of fixes to the core game, and DLC worked in(although I won't include it in my review), the game is arguably the greatest video game of all time.

The Good: An unparalleled world packed with a variety of quests, Dragon battles are exhilarating (when your at a lower level), Art design, Great battles that you can approach in any way you like, Great story in addition to the main quest.
The Bad: Some glitches, Friendly AI can sometimes get in the way and crowd or block doorways

First off the game is visually stunning and is really enjoyable to go walking around and look at the game world. Every region seems individually crafted unlike in Fallout 3. The regions are also nicely varied, you have snowy mountain peaks,(my personal favorite) forests, swamps and tundra. Onto the weapons and combat, the weapons are well done and look good but i do wish there were more types of armor and weapons. The combat is better but still a little stiff, but the addition of duel wielding an ax with a fire spell or a dagger with a healing spell or something of the like makes the combat more customisable. Technical the game deserves much to be desired, the textures especially on shade and snow is kind of blurry, also loading times are incredibly long. In my opinion the games biggest problem is its gear progression, by that I mean you'll be using near top tier weaponry by level thirty or so, that really can make the game dull in later levels. The story is quite good and its above average for a Bethesda game, along with the main quest you have guild quests, misc quests, side quests and faction quests. Over all this is a great game for any fan of video games, with its sprawling, beautiful landscape and addictive gameplay, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is truly a classic game. Expand

I do enjoy playing Skyrim, I still play it to this day, (probably because its so long, which I don't mind) however one or two things did let me down, such as the static animations that almost every single character in the game shares, and the fact that you get sent into about 100 caves for a quest, it does get a little bit repetitive, that being said, I did enjoy the gameplay, and still do.

The game is probably one of the better ones in history, in decades, people will talk about Skyrim as a game-changer, and it is definitely the best game in Modern history, even with Borderlands, Halo, COD, Fallout, and others. The level of immersion that Bethesda has given their frozen, nordic world, is just incredible. I truly think this is the best game made in a long time, and Bethesda hasn't disappointed yet. The next elder scrolls has one hell of a game to follow up on, and, if it follows the same expansion in greatness that Skyrim did with Oblivion, it will truly be an outstanding game. Want to have your character kill everybody he/she meets? Or do you want him/her to be the hero of the people and do every little thing someone asks them to do? Your choice, it's Skyrim baby. The exploration is GIGANTIC in Skyrim with 16 sq miles to explore you will never get bored! I do have little problems with Skyrim though, one is that the main story is way too short, another is that there are glitches that can sometimes be game ending ( R.I.P. Besides a few voices which didn't match the NPCs body. While on the subject of voices... WHERE ARE ALL THE VOICE ACTORS!?!? THERE ARE LIKE 10 DIFFERENT VOICES IN THIS DAMN GAME SAYING THE SAME THING. The most ANNOYING thing about this game I have to say. If you're like me, then you would want to create the most evilest bastard whom ever lived... So lets say you're going for a stroll and you get a thirst for slaughtering helpless villagers... TOO BAD... Most of the game NPCs in this damn game are invincible. What got me the most about this game was the freedom to do ALMOST anything you wanted, which was in the last Elder Scrolls... The world was very wide and just tempting you to explore. After completing the main quest of slaying big-n-nasteh (which really wasn't too long..) I found myself lost. Very much... Bored. I mean there are a TON of fun quests in this game that will make you laugh and twist your emotions... But past those fun quests are dull and endless quests that have you run across the world to kill some bandits then run across the world to kill some more... IT WAS BORING... Don't get me wrong though, this game is a MUST PLAY. The story will suck you in and not let you go until you slay that ugly bastard. Slicing the heads off of random people will keep you entertained for quite some time and it is worth your moneys worth. Don't worry, when you complete all the fun stuff it will call you back for more and you will make a new character. Expand

Non the less, your actions are not as impacting to the world compare to Bethesda's last game Fallout 3. I really enjoy the new Leveling system which comes in many skill trees. Each action you do for that skill tree levels up the more you do it, this will unlock perks on that tree that gives extras bonus to your character, depending on the trees you spend the most on will define your characters play style. Events happen around the world of Skyrim such as random Dragons crossing by, attacking a near by town. Killing these huge dragons rewards you Dragon souls use to unlock hidden shouts. I found the shout system really useful since it can be used for all play styles. Skyrim may be big with many events and quest to do but there isn't as much conflict then just the civil war. Choices kind of seem a bit limited and your actions don't reflect too heavy on your overall playthrough. Dungeons can get repetitive, giving you the same puzzles and enemies to fight but I have been wowed in a few dungeons that looked open and creative. Lastly, for an open world game, there are bugs that could ruin your playthrough but nothing but a good quick-save could resolve the problem. Overall, despite the lack of some impacting story/side quest, Skyrim is really fun and well design in gameplay. There are many ways to build your character adding new and different playthroughs with different play styles. For your money, your getting a lot for package. Expand

They took me to fantastic worlds I did not know I had access to and induced emotional peaks I did not know I could reach. Today, I eagerly seek out games that provide a exceptional level of immersion and completeness. I want a game to enable my re-visitation of those wondrous childhood dreamscapes. Skyrim is an anomaly. How did this game emerge from a contemporary gaming landscape plagued by infinitely repetitious, borderline masochistic online cluster f*ck ``adventures`` such as World of Warcraft or Guild Wars 2? May the hordes of PC gamers unite in their digital attack of this query, I give you my blessing. Skyrim is the cure for the disease infecting modern RPG gaming. Even the most garbage mouthed, irrational forum troll could not convince me otherwise. Play the game. Immerse yourself. You`ll find Skyrim offers you what your beloved MMORPG cannot: choice.

Don`t turn off, tune in. Get involved emotionally with the serenity of Tamriel`s bubbling brooks and be inspired by its kingly mountains. Listen to the stories being whispering by townspeople to you, a passing stranger, wandering a vast feudal landscape rife with unique political struggles and social consequentialism. Or, you could tune-out, turn off, hypnotize yourself with mind-numbing hoarding. Skyrim encapsulates the best of both worlds.

I write this having already had my fill of Skyrim. We had a passionate and attentive relationship, but for the most part, its over. Yes, recent DLC tempts me as much as the next Bethseda fan-boy, but I feel more inclined to abstain. I`ll save it for a rainy day, perhaps. My point is that coming out the otherside of my Skyrim expereince, I can assure any readers in full condifence that this was the best game I played this year. Skyrim is probably the best game I`ve played in five years. I for one, put my faith in Bethseda to be the ray of light that penetrates through the hazy future of RPG gaming. So cheers to you, Bethseda, and cheers to those who forgot, if only for a moment, that they were playing a video game.

Graphics and exploration are really great in this game. It is the most open and free-ing game I have played. You rarely have to do something in order.

The loading however gets really awful after playing awhile. The time gets longer the more you play and this game loads all the time. There is a tons endless hours of content but there is also tons of hours of load screens which keep this from getting a higher score.

The random dragon encounters also get tedious and frustrating when your just trying to get from a town to a cave. It was exciting the first 5 times but after a while they could cut back on those.

This game has so much depth to it it almost feels endless at times. The pros do indeed outweigh the cons in this awesome RPG. In Skyrim you have the option of becoming a mage, archer, warrior, or you can be all three. In my first playthrough I was a mage. This in my opinion, is easily the most enjoyable and satisfying combat type to play as in Skyrim. Shooting fire, ice or electricity bolts which potentially one shot enemies is so satisfying in this game. The more you level up in the game the more godlike your character becomes. You feel a great sense of achievement when your character is high level. There is so much depth to this game that it's almost unreal. Now since I said the pros outweigh the cons, I will go into the cons now. The two main cons I had with this game were the overwhelming amount of bugs and glitches, and the slightly forgettable main quest. Regarding the technical problems(bugs, glitches etc), these are somewhat expected in a game as huge as Skyrim. The main quest on the other hand could have had much more to it in terms of length and twists. It felt under-delivered and too short in my opinion. But these two gripes are hardly noticeable in a game that is packed with content, and is almost endless. I loved exploring the land of Skyrim visiting snowy mountains, grassy plains, and clearing dungeons and caves as well. I am terribly arachnophobic, and each time I encountered incredibly detailed and realistic mutant spiders developed by the great dev's at Bethesda, I almost jumped out of my seat every time. The scare was always there. Overall Skyrim is an epic RPG and I highly recommend it. Expand

Easily the best RPG game I have ever played! True open world, and has many side quests. Tons of characters, armor, weapons, etc to choose from. I can't wait for Elder Scrolls 6 to be released

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Skyrim is in a way the best RPG game ever made. The Elder Scrolls series is now got the crown after Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim all have GOTY awards and top ratings. But what makes it good? It isn't the gameplay, the story, or the graphics. It's the creativity and imagination in it's universe that gives it it's spark.

The game takes place in Skyrim, a state of the Imperial government on Tamriel. You play as, The Dragonborn, a figure so highly regarded by the people of Skyrim and is the only hope for dispelling evil from the world as a Dragon named, Alduin, is going to destroy the world. The Dragonborn sets out to learn the ancient magic known as, Shouting, a form of magic that is the Dragon's own form of language. You can breath fire, knock anything out of the way, turn yourself into a ghost, call animals to aid you, detect enemies around you, or even call other Dragons to aid you. You master these abilities in order to combat Alduin.

The game is heavy with exploration and quest. As you can travel all around Skyrim to fetch a stolen amulet or stop an entire Civil War. It also shapes to your character and how the world is formed around your actions. As guards of cities will comment on a powerful Deadric weapon or item you carry, your features of being a Werewolf or a vampire, or what you do to enhance the world around them.

Combat is varied through several type of abilities and skills. Like sword fighting, casting magic, assassinating, or poaching a helpless bandit with arrows. Physical combat can be lacking, but enemies can match for skill if you turn up the difficulty. Magic has several 'schools' of magic that can cover illusions, destruction, alterations, conjuring, or alchemy that can effect combat in many other fields. Stealth is slow paced, but deadly. Archery is for marksmen that can deal serious damage to unsuspecting enemies or pegging them one by one before they can even get close.

Graphics are amazing, and make the immersion almost mind blowing. Even on 360 does it look good, but PC players will have thought life was sitting in their monitors.

Skyrim is a must buy for people that love RPGs.

Another great part of the game was the extensive background story that really differentiates a mediocre open world RPG to Skyrim. For me the background was important in that it really represented again the size of the actual game itself and made it seem more real giving players the chance to turn their rather insignificant character into a history making hero.

The game is flawed in many areas. But I'd rather have a flawed gem than a perfectly smooth rock. Bethesda has once again proved that they can produce beautifully crafted role-playing games with a visually stunning world and a giant pile of lore to fill it. Definitely one of the best games so far in this new decade.

Let's jut get one thing out of the way, the game looks amazing, though it is one to be viewed as a big picture because at closer inspection of many of the rocks, wood and items reveals some ugly textures... But one quickly forgets of these problems when viewing a beautifal view from a mountain.

One thing is poor about the graphics, and that is the horrible render distance. Everything pops in when you walk a meter, waterfalls look frozen from a distance and much of this is most notable in the the Rift where the trees from a distance look horrible.

One thing to mention is the story, and this mostly comes at a mixed bag. Almost all of the factions are un-interesting and shallow... And nothing actually impacts the world much except the quick phrase from a guard saying "Aren't you that new guy at the Companions?" even though you just became the leader. The only guild I actually enjoyed due to it's themes, characters and well written stories was the Thieves Guild.

Many of the side quests are interesting, some more then others with only a handful that actually stood out from the rest (No one Escapes Cidna Mine, The Forsworn Conspiracy etc) though the best of all of the games stories were the Deadric Quests due to the fact many of these actually had choices that gave you different rewards (such as a follower or artifact) depending on the difficicult moral choice given to you by the deadric lord.
The civil war is alright... The politics and story behind is good, though the battles at the cities are laughable and the world barely changes after your faction winning and no moot is held.

The gameplay is good... If not a bit easy, it is best to replay the game on higher difficulties once the game is completed. I wish changing the difficulty changed more then just the damage output and recieved. The dungeons can get repetative and the puzzles are VERY easy, though this is a minor complaint. I also wish the sneaking was better and more realistic and the game had some kind of Hardcore mode like New Vegas but with taking acount the weather.

Overall the game is excellent, though isn't as perfect as many claim it to be. I hope Bethesda's next game would be not as linear and dumbed down and all of the stories to actually be great and choices affecting the world.

The colorful NPCs, (Even though there's only like- 20 voice actors) The beautiful landscape, and the engaging story lines made this game worth the $60. However, there are always criticisms. The marriage system. I really wish you could get divorced and have your own children. I bought hearthfire to adopt, thinking "Oh, I'm gonna be a father!" But it just isn't the same when you're an elf with nord kids. Still, that aside, the DLCs were well crafted, even though they were short. This game is, and always will be worth your money; a modern classic.

I like it for the reasons that many of the fanbase dislike it, because it is so different from its predecessors by successfully fusing action with RPG. This game almost feels like an MMO the way that NPC's comment on things like weather and work with you to kill dragons. It does inevitably become too easy when playing stealth or warrior, but pure mage on master setting is very satisfying. Did I mention the magic (and overall combat) in this game is awesome!

    2 Reasons this is not a 10:
There needs to be a way of switching between spells or weapon configurations quickly and without pausing the game. Playing any character that relies on magic takes 5 times as long because you have to keep pausing between every other attack.
There are an overwhelming number of bugs and glitches in this game. Bethesda is known for this in their games, and has done little to correct it because people find the glitches generally entertaining. Often times, however, they can be annoying or even game breaking. It is not a happy words that come from a gamers mouth when they just finally beat an epic battle with an elder dragon and a dragon priest (it happens) only to have the dragon priest body glitch into the ground to where you can't loot it.

Skyrim begins as does most Eldar Scrolls games do, you have little knowledge of what is going on and for new players you may also not even know what you are doing, but that doesn't matter as Bethesda does an amazing job of throwing you into the action almost instantly. The games mechanics stay true to previous Eldar Scrolls titles but also with the edition of new Shouts which you can wield in varying ways on the battlefield. They add a new dynamic to the game whilst not making you rely on them throughout, Magic and combat have stayed true to former titles, but now you can dual wield spells and create "Super spells" which are of a greater magnitude of power. Combat is simple and the most refreshing way of playing the game, it is very satisfying gutting your enemies and executing lethal finishing moves. Archery was my main choice in my first play through, it is another satisfying way of entering combat and both archery and close quarters combat have their pros and cons. The new skill trees let you enhance your character further to unending lengths, you can be whoever you want to be and do whatever you want to do, if you opt to become a war hammer wielding warrior you can be along with all the benefits that brings or you can be a deadly archer a silently kill your foes. The skill trees allow you to unlock abilities in each tier such as, one handed, archery, sneak, light Armour, destruction magic and smithing. Everything on offer benefits you and making your choice can sometimes be a tough one. The map of Skyrim is huge, it may not be as big as Cyrodil but that was Bethesda's aim, to fill the world more densely. You can't go 100 meters in the game without encountering something or someone and it all adds to the action. You can go where ever you want and do any quest or side quest you have been given whenever you wish. It really is all down to you. The graphics have been improved dramatically and add great detail to this diverse world of forests, barren icy lands, swamps and mountains. Characters facial animations have also improved and so has the voice acting alongside it, this really does make the entire world more easy to get into. Talking to people is now interesting and fun, you can always find out something from them. There are a few downsides to this masterpiece however, glitches are common but most have been patched, the frame rate can drop considerably at times, especially on the Xbox, also some quests can become tedious and although Bethesda has tried to vary every dungeon, a lot of them do look very similar and can become boring to play through. The DLC available is also top quality, I have both the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLCs and found them very fun to play through, Dragonborn offers a whole new map to explore in Morrowind and Dawnguard gives you a brilliant quest line with an abundance of riches when completed. So overall, Skyrim is an absolute masterpiece in gaming and raises the bar to a whole new level for all games in the genre. An addictive and brilliant game earns a 9 out of 10 from me. Expand

To avoid any TL;DR issues with this review, take this away if nothing else: Skyrim is with little doubt THE best RPG of the last console generation, and it certainly is one of, if not THE, best games overall of that console generation.

The best praise that can be given to any game, but especially to an RPG, is that four whole years after its release, there still is a desire to go back to it and see what other things I missed in my two previous playthroughs (probably no less than 300 hours in total).

The only reasons I can think of as to why someone would not enjoy this game are that they do not enjoy games that require a large time investment (which this certainly does if you want to see the best of it); think fantasy settings are too cheesy/nerdy/uninteresting; or have played Bethesda games before and know that they aren't their cup of tea. If you have played any previous Elder Scrolls or Fallout game and come away feeling underwhelmed, you'd probably feel the same way with Skyrim.

But if none of the above apply to you and you haven't played this game...why are you reading this and not borrowing it or buying a digital copy?!?!

It has an enormous, beautiful, and in no way empty open world to explore. It has an engaging main quest with a fulfilling ending, excellent side quests to distract you from the main quest, and excellent DLCs that add not only content but features that extend the viability of the game (i.e. Legendary skills which essentially negate the base Level Cap). Like magic? There's plenty of that if you want it. Don't like magic? I never did, but you could almost certainly go through a whole playthrough without it.

This game is one of maybe five on my short list of 360 games I will go back and play around with after upgrading to an Xbox One. Play it if you haven't yet!

One of my main problems with this game (as was the case with Oblivion as well), is that you collect endless amounts of gold, but there is no real need to spend it. Everything you could ever want can be found while looting, so you just end up with an insane amount of gold by the time you finish. The animation is good (some of the kill-scenes are awesome), but I somehow felt just a little bit disappointed in this game, although it is still a lot better than 90% of the titles for the 360. For me nothing is perfect, it will be pretty hard for earn my 10.0 in a critics, and Skyrim for me it's a 9.5 game, lets take a lot by topics:

    - Gameplay: A perfect mix of 3rd person and 1st, and every gameplay with every item it's good, with archery it's good, with sword is good, with all items there is a diferent gameplay for each category and each gameplay it's well made. I stay with 9.3 for the gameplay.

    - IA: 8.5 it's a good score for the IA, it works well, the problem it's some bugs, this usualy happens when the world is pretty pretty big and open, by the size of the world the bugs are minimal, but they are. I saw some delay from the enemies when I was going the fight with them, but this is minimal. I give 8.5 for the IA by the bugs, nothing more.

    - Level Desing: What to say eh? The wolrd is greatest and glorious, from the mountains to the grass, the level desing it's breathtaking and gloryous, well made and perfect for and RPG game, I give 10 easily.

    - Graphics: I stay with 9.0, for 2011 the graphics is pretty good, obviously was dificult for Skyrim to compete with Battlefield 3 for an example, but the graphics was pretty good.

    - Hitory: Takes 10 easily, man WHAT a histroy! The main one it's the dragonborn one where you kill dragons and make other things, but every sidemission has a history, from help a simple guy to enter in a assassin's brotherhood, absolutly perfect!

    - Cons: Further the minimal bugs, to complete the game 100% it's nearly impossible, about a month length, not a month playing 2 hours a day, a month playing 24 hours every each day, so the game extension is ridiculous and can disappoint the most hardcore gamer.

Finishing, it's a 9.5 game and one of the best RPG games ever made, one of the best games ever made, but isn't by TESV Skyrim that you must to creat expectatives for TES Online, witch is a pay MMORPG game.

Visuals: 9/10 - From long distances to medium distances, textures in this game are some of the best I've seen, but the problem is that if you get too close, you can see bits of pixilation and blurry spots.
Audio: 10/10 - Nothing is out of place here; everything sounds as it should sound. In-game battle music really changes the tone of combat, while non-combat music makes travelling long distances worthwhile.
Customisation: 7/10 - Great, but could be better. Add in a more detailed slider for eyes, nose, mouth, (Sims style sliders) maybe? This would add even more customisation choices for an already amazing feature.
Overall: 9/10 - Skyrim is an amazing piece of art. With superb gameplay and graphics, it's no wonder it's widely considered to be one of the best games ever made.

The main story is essentially kill the main dragon. Cliche yes but great. You don't play skyrim for it's story, it only provides a backdrop of why your doing stuff. And that's perfectly fine. Doing all these stories and not just one, makes it deeper then anything though.

    Gameplay.
    - the most important thing. Well it's great. So many different options, all feel powerful, stealth works well, not 100% realistic but it's a fantsy game after all. The swords and mettle feel heavy, feel powerful, two handed weapons more so. Magic feels powerful and feels like you have total control at your fingertips. Stealth like an Assassin makes you feel dangerous and a professional and a thief makes you feel smart and silent. I have created numinous characters, to try out every style I could think of. And thier all fun. The one I enjoyed the most is conjuration- to create magical swords and summon creatures from oblivion to help and distract, one handed obviously for the bound sword spell, aletartion for magical armor and restoration for healing and ward spells to block breathe attacks from dragons etc. menu system is great, easy to navigate. Oh and Shouts? Their awesome. It adds like a 4th layer of gameplay here, and anyone can use it, and standardly there is 20 of them. To slow time, push enimies, burn them, freeze them etc.

    Graphics.
Looking closely is muddy. But take it as a whole it is great. Due to skyrims massive scale it can't be a crysis level looking game? Maybe with mods, but graphics look great no matter what. Framerate is stable, it can get iffy. Colours are amazing, landscape has so much variety.

    Sound.
Voice acting is great, soundtrack is best I've heard. Weapons, magic, have variations. Shouts are cool.

    Content.
Well this game is practically never ending, but max level is 50 (standard), lots of gear and customisation. I spent thoundands hrs of it. Different characters and such. High replay ability . Very high.

    Things I didn't like.
    - sometimes too much walking, got bored, wanted to fight something but nothing's around.
    - glitches, that repeating jumping sound. It's annoying, broken quests. Every 40hrs or so it will freeze.
    - loading screens, some are too long.
    - a lot characters sound same.

Overall a 9.7/10 no game is a 10 nothing is perfect, but this is close. Buy it, download it, mod it what ever just play it.

Gone are the days of quirky, funny and colorful Oblivion, and back to the dreary days of Morrowind. "Why, this is a positive!" one might say in response, as they sip from their "hardcore" coffee mug full of mountain dew.... Nay, it is a negative. While Morrowind's world was full of depth, originality and just plain awesomness, Skyrim is boring, bland and dreary.

Combat is over simplified, as are the skills. No longer can you be a class and label yourself as such, but choices are very much confined. Either you be a mage, assassin or warrior! No longer can you be a Bard, Rouge, Witchhunter or Pilgrim... A gameplay style other then combat is impossible.
The game is for morons, extremely linear and easy... Though still I enjoyed my time here, and there are most definitely positives, such as the epic sense of exploration, immersion and lore.

BAD: No cooperative or competitive multiplayer at all; Boring NPCs(even if you are married or close friends with them); Lacks mini games(like arm wrestling or arena fights); Main story is not as interesting as the side and guild quests; After doing major quests that "change" the game, all of the NPCs react poorly and when they do, it's just forgettable; Character creator is a disappointment; Graphics are not that good; Some of the animations are half-assed(Ex. when you mount your horse from the right, you'll teleport to the left then mount and no sleeping animation); Kill animations are rare; All the game choices cannot affect your emotions; when you claim badass weapons from ancient people, you will most likely have a weapon that is already better; Alduin(the main villain) is not bigger than the other dragons, he is just spikier

FINAL VERDICT: Even though this game has a lot of problems, it mostly can be over looked of the stuff you can do, that's why this game will end up as a 9/10. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. people are very different it seems, some hate skyrim cuz its worse then oblivion, others hate oblivion cuz its worse then skyrim, others hate them both cuz morrowind is better.

or its too big and boring, its too easy, its cold feeling and too snowy while others felt oblivion was too much of the same also with green grass everywhere. so it cant have too much snowy places nor can it have too many grassy areas, seem we should just have ruined cities and desert for these people!!

the only thing i can agree on with them is the main quest is shorter then i would have wanted but people also said bad things about the main quest in oblivion, i felt the main quest at the ending or morrowind was bad(giant zombie thing?) otherwise if your that unsure of this game, dont listen to friends, just rent it. otherwise if you have to like exploreing open world areas, if you like that then you will like this game.

also some people were complaining there was no good armor around, like they leveled to 40 just hoping for some full set to drop in their lap? the best armor is stuff you make dude, its easy enough to get into smithing since your not constricted by major and minor skills anymore, so quit being lazy and make armor, then it will be good armor.

also I have seen people complain that the game is too easy cuz the armor is so over-powered for them now, so now people are getting too strong of armor while others are getting too little of armor?

rent the game, if you like it, then buy it. its been out for a long time now so it should be cheaper and the expansions make the game that much better, i love hearthfire mainly cuz i like building and haveing my own house and this lets you build 3 which are better then most if not any of the other house you can buy from being mister special thane of a town.

the island you go to(dragon born expansion) also gives you a house at some point and thats fun to explore and the vampire expansion is fun to fight them as well, even though if you experiance fighting the master vamps early on they are kinda impossible and i hope you have town guards around.

I loved this game, and it winning Spike TV’s 2011 Game of the Year award, was completely warranted and deserved. Kiss real life goodbye, and prepare to lose yourself in the beautiful world of Skyrim! The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim might just be the best RPG of all time. Heck, it IS the best, In every aspect. This is easily a game that can absorb alot of your time and you can play it two or three times over and there is literally so much in this game that every time you play it feels different. This is the only game I have ever played that actually makes you feel like there are no boundaries. You look at the landscape and there are massive jagged peaks far in the distance across rolling plains and the best part about it is that this is in most cases not some generated background as it is in most games. You can actually go explore those mountains. The map is massive and some of the most exciting part of the game is seriously traversing from one town to another. This is one of those games everybody should play once or thrice:) Expand

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a must have for any RPG fan. There are tons of quests to do and lots of land to explore. Character customization is one of the best in any RPG; you can literally play any type of character you want, and you can switch playing styles at any point without making a new character. This is one of the most fun and adventurous games that I have ever played. It’s simply amazing. Expand

10/10 Skyrim is not a game to be missed. In fact, Skyrim is more than a game, it is an experience. Skyrim mixes an interesting story with excellent gameplay and a wide variety of side quests, characters and items. I loved using my shouts and know that I will be pumping in hundreds more hours into this masterpiece.

Great game filled to the brim with content. Only negative aspect is it has a large amount of bugs. But considering the scope of the game it is largely understandable.

I do not know what is wrong with the PS3 version but I am glad I played it on the Xbox because it is an amazing experience to even watch someone else play this game. Fantastic game and a must play for everyone!

Skyrim is the largest, and most compelling work that I've had the opportunity to play this year. It's engaging, engrossing, and will take over your gaming life for many months to come. Not only is Skyrim among the best that 2011 has to offer, but for me, this is, without hesitation, the Game of the Year.
