  1. As far as movie based games go, The Incredible Hulk is better than most in recent memory. As far as comic based games go, it's not bad either. Still, when compared to the last Hulk game, it feels like the game's already been done before, and on the last generation of consoles as well.
  2. While annoying, the lock-ups don't really do much to dampen how outlandishly fun the game is. If you like the Hulk and you enjoying destroying things, you'll enjoy your time with The Incredible Hulk, even if you have to reset the system from time to time.
  3. Even as a non-fan, I've been finding my time as the jolly green git rather enjoyable and have found plenty to like about it. It's definitely worth a weekend's smashing and bashing, at the very least.
  4. The game is fun and being the Hulk as never been such a chaotic thrill. However, the horrible voice acting and corporate Achievement schemes will bring even the Hulk to his knees.

    Just don't expect a sophisticated experience. [Aug 2008, p.70]
  6. The word “good” should never be used when describing this game, but “entertaining” definitely fits it. Who doesn’t love smashing stuff? The Hulk does it better than anyone, and it’s captured quite well within this game.
  7. Demolishing a city may make for a fun weekend rental, but not quite an incredible one.

So while Incredible Hulk isn't a bad game, it's actually several steps backward from the last Hulk title. If you are a Hulk fan, this is a definite rental. But if you want the true Hulk experience, stick with Ultimate Destruction.
  9. Technical problems plague audio, visual and gameplay aspects, wholly detracting from a game with a nothing-special mission structure.
  10. If you are looking for a 3D version of Rampage, The Incredible Hulk is right up your alley. Before you get too excited, ask yourself exactly how long you could stand to play the old city destroyer before getting bored. That is exactly as long as you will enjoy this one.

Though Hulk is a serviceable game that can be enjoyed over a weekend, it feels outdated.
  12. As moviegoers walk away from the film hoping to continue the adventure, this Hulk is far from incredible.
  13. A very half-baked game that is very repetitive and becomes boring to play. The only fun this game offers is destroying everything in sight, but that gets old after a while.
  14. Edge of Reality seems to simply not have had enough time or money to do anything original with The Incredible Hulk.
  15. Hulk’s orgy of destruction is entertaining at the beginning, but unfortunately it’s the only motivating thing in the game. Both the missions and the story are weak.
  16. The game has major issues. The graphics aren't that great and the realism is non-existent, the voice acting is plain awful and boring and the freezing/frame-rate issues are inexcusable.

Hulk himself is a terrific creation. The game that surrounds him? Not so much. [Sept 2008, p.75]

A ton of side missions offer varying entertainment value, plenty of doodads to collect and power Hulk up with, and even a few cool alternate character skins for the green guy to wear. But I can't just quietly ignore the fact that a similar, but far better Hulk game (the best superhero game, for my money) sits on my shelf at home, and is readily available for anyone to track down.
  19. To call The Incredible Hulk a bad game would be a bit too harsh. Instead, it is an aggravating, shallow, repetitive, buggy, and yet somehow moderately entertaining title.
  20. It’s fun to run around as the Hulk in an open world, harassing pedestrians and tearing the city apart with your bare hands, but with its uneven pacing, dull missions, and sloppy presentation, The Incredible Hulk won’t keep most players interested for long.
  21. Running around as a green, humanoid wrecking ball in New York's sandbox of steel and concrete castles can be fun for a while until it starts feeling like a repetitive exercise in dealing with missions that try and enlist the Hulk as a nanny for stolen gear or have him destroy yet another group of bad guys who don't have the good sense to stay out of his way.
  22. You won't like it when this simplistic, repetitive, and occasionally broken game makes you angry.
  23. All in all, approach "The Incredible Hulk" game for what it is, and don't expect miracles even though smashing things never really goes out of fashion and never proves to be anything less than fun.
  24. The poor technical quality of the game isn't quite enough to dim the innate amusement of thundering around New York as the Hulk, but it's certainly enough to drop this from "long awaited next gen remake of a great game" to "yet another movie tie-in that's only really good for a weekend rental".
  25. If you absolutely must play it, then I'd recommend nothing more than a rental.
  26. Like so many Hollywood Summer blockbusters: It starts with a cool idea (Hulk destroying stuff) but, from there, grinds to a halt in terms of delivering on its promise. I won't say it's a bad game, because you can get a couple hours of fun out of it running around smashing stuff, but none of it stands out as being exceptional, or even well-done.
  27. You'll get moments of fun simply from being Hulk, but this isn't enough to carry the whole game. The incredibly disappointing presentation is sadly the final nail in Hulk's coffin.

The Incredible Hulk is the kind of game that you play for the hell of it but never really manages to blow your mind. Fun, flawed, clumsy, and effortlessly violent, Hulk does exactly what you'd expect and if wanton destruction is what you're looking for then give it a whirl.

Seriously, there's nothing incredible about this. [Aug 2008, p.79]
  30. Causing mayhem in the city of New York is the only thing that's mildly entertaining in this game, with other content such as mini games and missions being utterly mediocre. Problems with framerates, graphical glitches and a far to short draw distance only cements the impression of this game being a perfect example of how quality and built-to-order games don't go hand in hand.
  31. The Incredible Hulk is an enjoyable experience that has been let down by bugs and glitches.
  32. 50
To be fair, there isn’t a word yet for “post-ultimate” destruction, but the lack of a subtitle is appropriate for this flimsier and less ambitious game that’s unlikely to set off a rampage to videogame stores.

So hulk the game is not really fun and I could not just get into the game, the gameplay is boring and tedious to play along with a rather lack of feeling really powerful it was also really easy since not many people are going to stand a chance against a giant green muscle man. Finally there was not much fun things to do in the city besides missions so I found myself going on rampages regularly but despite that being what hulk does and me loving that in games like prototype it just wasn't fun here Full Review »
