The Witcher 2 is a highly recommended purchase for those seeking a mature and visceral role-playing experience.

A perfect conversion of the extraordinary RPG didn't lose any of its appeal and gamepad controls added an even better feel. [May 2012]

This is simply one of the most singular and enthralling RPG experiences in years, and it should be played by pretty much anyone willing to hold a controller.

Despite the constant worry of carrying too much loot around, and even with some small interface issues, The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is a marvelous game. It's more focused and has a vastly superior combat model than Skyrim, is more realized and contains better writing than Dragon Age, and treats sex like a mature theme and not a juvenile goal. It's not to be missed.

Porting such a colossal game as The Witcher 2 on the 360 was no easy task. CD Projekt rose to the challenge nonetheless and succeeded. Even though it's less detailed and delicate than on the PC, the 360 port remains visually stunning. The game itself is as good as ever, better even, with its buffed up third act and revised endings. Unmissable for any RPG fan.

The best fantasy RPG on Xbox 360. The awesome atmosphere, the epic and adult storyline, the beautiful graphics and the clever gameplay are enough to turn this masterpiece into a must buy.

The 360 version may not be the pinnacle version, but it's done well enough that there's no significant detriment to tarnish the experience the developers originally intended.

The Witcher 2 continues to be a colossal creative and technical achievement and the superb 360 version only confirms the excellence CD Projekt's craft. Console users get a fantastic version of a fantastic game, while the PC users get a great patch that improves and enhances the experience of the original, a perfect excuse to return as The White Wolf and to live his adventure from a new perspective.

Much like its protagonist, Assassins of Kings stands in defiant contrast to the crowd, but in doing so CD Projekt RED has come away with a product that appeals on many different levels – a strong draught of dialogue, action, and coordinated gameplay that ought to slake the hunger, thirst, and yearning loins of any lonesome traveller of the road.

The Witcher 2: Assassin's of Kings Enhanced Edition is not a perfect game as the title does contain some graphical clipping, a few bugs and some truly frustrating moments such as over the top boss battles (depending on difficulty) and of course the horrible inventory system. However, thankfully the pros more than outweigh the cons in this title which creates one of the best RPG experiences on the XBox 360.

The Witcher 2 on the X360 is a masterpiece. It's easy to prey on the developers that are unable to create a good port of an original game, but that's not the case. I don't have to be patriotic to see the gigantic amount of work the authors have done - I have seen this port in action almost a year ago and I was far from being ecstatic.

Its weighty combat, difficult choices with real consequences, and fascinating storylines are some of the best gaming has ever seen. I can no longer lord it over the console masses with this one, though, because this long-in-development Xbox 360 port is just as amazing as the original. It's actually better than it was at launch... Regardless of the game's quality when put side-by-side with its PC incarnation, however, The Witcher 2 on the 360 is definitely an incredibly well crafted and polished game with a few flaws that only rarely hinder the overall experience and prevent it from achieving perfection.

Looks and plays great on Xbox 360, too. Enhanced Edition updates round out the game nicely and add much needed new stuff to the previously pretty brief last chapter. Thankfully nothing has been censored for the consoles, and everything in the world is still as engaging and gritty as it should be. The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition is a serious contender for the best game of 2012. [Apr 2012]

CD Projekt has achieved a great game, translating the essence of the excellent game they made for PC to Xbox 360, without diluting it in the proccess. It is one of the best games for the Xbox 360; it's deep, complex and mature, and very good news for RPG fans.

The Xbox 360 version has some rough edges, but these annoyances aren't significant enough to sully the experience. The Witcher 2 is a beauty to behold with a rich, involving fiction framing strategic and challenging combat. Most of all, its mature implementation of morality, choice, and consequence is a step forward that more games would be wise to follow.

It's a fantastic game, even set aside from playing the original Witcher, so don't be put off by the fact that you might not have played the first game. For console only players that have heard PC gamers talk endlessly about the merits of this particular title, you'll finally get a chance to see what all the hype has been about. I don't think you'll come away disappointed in the slightest, as The Witcher 2 really delivers in every way imaginable.

The Enhanced Edition improves upon an already excellent game and brilliantly spreads the Witcher gospel to Xbox-owners. Geralt made it to consoles at last. And in what style! One of the best RPG games in years was ported to X360 almost perfectly – it looks great and plays great. What it lacks is some introduction for those who didn't have the opportunity to play the first game or read Sapkowski's books and therefore might feel lost in The Witcher's world. [June 2012, p.54]

Even with its flaws, The Witcher 2 is the best game that I have played in years and one of the best games I have ever played. As I mentioned before, though, it's hardcore, with a steep learning curve. However, that's an easy price to play for getting to play through one of the most intelligent multi-pathed stories in video game history. For fans of RPGs or story-based games in general, this is a must-buy.

The story is excellent and original, and the game can take you dozens of hours to complete depending on how much you dig into the side quests. My original skepticism about the viability of a game like The Witcher 2 on consoles has been blown away, but of course it's up to the Xbox 360 gamers out there to make it a success.

One of the best roleplaying games of yesteryear just got a little bit better, and if you're even remotely interested in the genre, this is a game you have to play. The Witcher 2 is every bit as excellent with couch and controller as it was with keyboard and mouse.

The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition dishes out additional content on a game I already loved so much. Gamers who don't play games on the PC have a chance to play it on their Xbox 360 without that much of a compromise. It's the way it handles player choice in particular that makes it most notable. There are no contrived right-versus-wrong decisions to exploit. The results of your decision don't just influence minor details: they lead you down wildly disparate paths, each as entertaining as the others.

Unless you have a high end PC capable of running the game smoothly on at least high settings, get the Xbox 360 version. It's a complete experience right out of the box that comes with some great content within in the box itself like a map, soundtrack and quest handbook.

Even though The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings takes some time to reveal its greatness, the game is enthralling from the very first second. It will take you some time to master the controls, because the combat system is a pretty unique mix of tactical movement and mere brutality. The modern game engine makes the game optically beautiful and the synchronization of the characters is amazing. Easily one of the best Action-RPGs for Xbox360.

While not necessarily as big a name as the products of BioWare or Bethesda, The Witcher 2 is still one of the most interesting developments in RPGs within the last ten years, and with a combination of additional content and cutscenes its Enhanced Edition on Xbox 360 is one of the most lovingly crafted fan-services you'll find.

A huge, complex and expertly written RPG that has the capacity to consume weeks, maybe even months of your life. While its roots are on the PC, it's translated effortlessly to the Xbox 360 with no compromises and stacks up well against the prettiest games on the system. It's more hardcore than Skyrim but by no means inaccessible.

The learning curve is steep, and it can be hard to keep up with all the made-up words if you're new to the series, but it's all worth it in the end. This is a fun world to inhabit, and the narrative weaved throughout is deeply satisfying. Not afraid of a little complexity? Then get this game.

I think that the game, for the most part, is a blast. The PC transfer was a bit rough and it needs some help (patches/updates), but as-is, it's pretty solid. It's got enough proper action and adventure to keep you occupied for a large amount of hours. It may not be Skyrim or Kingdom of Amalur hours, but it will be enough for you to be satisfied with the purchase.

Witcher 2 is a throwback in a lot of ways to old PC games, which certainly appeals to me. The delivery method is modern, no doubt, but the fact there's a lot of poking and prodding (and death) that happens even early on has me anxious for another instalment.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Enhanced Edition is a game that lives up to the hype. The story and game come off as more mature than other similarly rated games. The combat is rewarding, and the completely alternate paths and side-quests provide more than enough incentive to replay the game once you finish it. The sound is masterfully done, and the graphics show that, even with a few flaws, developers can pull off some magic with this old hardware. Both RPG and action lovers will be more than satisfied with this very entertaining title.

If there's anything to take away from our previous The Witcher 2-review is that this is an amazing role-playing game. It was one of the most ambitious PC-games of last year, and this is an excellent port.

In every significant way, The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 is the same subversive and compelling fantasy that it was on the PC. There are some minor technical and graphical blemishes, but they don't detract from what is one of the best RPGs of recent years, and the extra content adds value.
  65. 85
Most crucially, the journey is worth every minute of effort: The Witcher 2's malleable final moments are remarkably satisfying no matter which choices you make. [May 2012, p.36]

An unconventional and layered RPG with a steep learning curve that is not for the uninitiated or faint of heart. Baring a few faltering steps it is a well rounded and thought provoking tale offering far more than its linear progression should allow.

I'm guessing if you have a PC capable of running this game then that would be the preferred format, but if you are resigned to playing your games on a console then The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Enhanced Edition is a competent port and an adventure worthy of your time and money.

The high bar of visuals is followed by a good score, and descent acting, some of the spell and combat audio has a edge to it that sounds lower quality then the rest of the audio landscape.
  70. 80
It is a solid RPG that looks the tits but does not do anything amazing to elevate it to a class of its own. I enjoyed my time with the game and found it refreshing to play an adult game with adult themes without feeling like the developers vision was censored in order to protect my fragile mind.

The Witcher 2 lacks a great ending, but has a fantastic journey.
  72. Apr 19, 2012

The Witcher 2 is a tough game, no doubt. Dare I say it, too tough. The Witcher 2's finest draw is in its tale, rather than its action, so it seems a misstep to give players a regular kicking even on the easiest setting.
  73. Apr 16, 2012
    80
The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings Enhanced Edition is an unforgiving and challenging RPG, made by adults for adults. It is not without flaws but what it offers in abundance is refreshment amongst a market of identikit RPG's afraid to take risks.
  74. Jun 17, 2012

The Xbox 360 port is an impressive technical accomplishment that brings a classic PC RPG experience to a new audience. The transition is not flawless, but those who stick with it will be rewarded with an intriguing and entertaining experience.

The big question: should you buy Enhanced Edition if you have already purchased The Witcher 2 on PC? That's a tough question to answer. The additional content is appealing, but if you've been faithfully supporting the game by purchasing DLC, it will undoubtedly feel like you are buying a lot of things for a second time.

The 360-version of this popular pc-game looks and sounds amazing, but certain mechanics as well as the presentation are somewhat lacking. It's a game that tries a little too hard to be different.

While I clearly had issues with the actual gameplay parts of The Witcher 2, the story and characters were memorable enough to make it worthwhile, mostly because of how real they felt. While it starts off rough, has a steep learning curve, and offers a lot of places where it can get frustrating, in the end the experience was worth the effort. With a little more polish on the controls and interface, this series can continue to mature into something truly outstanding.
  79. May 1, 2012
    70
The Witcher 2 stumbles plenty, stubborn in its lack of communication with the player and often failing to meet those aforementioned ambitions. But a clear sense of character, place and tone lets CD Projekt Red's violent epic pick itself up and largely succeed as a game confident in its own identity.
  80. Apr 16, 2012
    70
The difficultly curve and arcane interface and mechanics will still sadly limit the game's appeal, but CD Projekt has never given the impression that they're chasing a mainstream audience. And that's probably the attitude that is needed in order to create one of the few adult video games that doesn't feel like it was made purely for teenagers.
  81. May 11, 2012
    60
In the simplest terms, playing The Witcher 2 is a lot like attending an archaeological dig with nothing but your bare hands: you're sure to come up with something amazing, but you'll suffer a lot of unnecessary punishment and stress to attain it.
  82. Apr 26, 2012

Despite all the additions and enhancements, The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition is an unsatisfying game that won't appeal to series newcomers and never lives up to its own ambitions.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Witcher 2 does what Dragon Age 2 should have done to DA1 aswell. Namely, making a great RPG even greater. You don't have to bump down a RPG when you add a realtime action combat system. You don't have to recycle the same locations all the freaking time. You don't have to make the game look cartoony and much much much easyer. Bioware look at the real pro's cause CD Projekt whooped your butt there. Yes Witcher 2 is hard on medium difficulty. But its so satisfying when you defeat that boss or group of thugs. You really have to find a patern and adjust to it. Potions are a must. Making sure you got the right gear is a must. But unlike other games i haven't found it frustrating yet. Although i had to peek how to defeat the swamp monster cause the entire game you can't just jump on obstacles just like that and suddenly you have to without me knowing you could...died there allot of time dodging what he trew at me before i knew how to progress, then it was easy.
