  • Summary: The Wolf Among Us is a 5-episode series from the creators of The Walking Dead. Based on Fables (DC Comics/Vertigo), an award-winning comic book series, it is an often violent, mature and hard-boiled thriller where the characters and creatures of myth, lore and legend are real and exist in our world. As Bigby Wolf - THE big bad wolf in human form - you discover that the brutal, bloody murder of a Fable is just a taste of things to come, in a game series where your every decision can have enormous consequences. Your choices matter: it’s not only WHAT you choose to do that will affect how your story plays out, but WHEN you choose to do it. A mature and gritty take on characters from fairy tales, legends and folklore who have escaped into our world. These are not the characters you’d see on a little child’s lunchbox. Play as Bigby Wolf: formerly the most feared monster among the Fables, now Sheriff of Fabletown and protector of those he used to hunt. He must restrain the beast within if he is to earn the trust of those around him. Choose Bigby’s actions carefully. Will you approach a situation calmly or unleash your inner rage? The way you act will determine how others respond to you. Set before the events seen in the first issue of the comics – you don’t have to know the characters or the world to play. Telltale Games clearly has another hit on its hands and I cannot wait to see how this story unfolds… or more appropriately how I choose to unfold it.

Telltale has once again delivered a well-written adventure, this time with an added dose of stylish noir presentation.

If Episode 1’s satisfying twists and gut-punch of a cliffhanger are any indication, a pitch-black journey into fairytale land lies ahead. Count us in for the long haul.

The Wolf Among Us is off to a great start – if it can replicate The Walking Dead’s emotional nuance and stakes going forward, it could turn into something special.

By the end of this first two-and-a-half hour episode of The Wolf Among Us, I was absolutely in for seeing how the series plays out.

But, story-wise, I'm hooked. The characters are fascinating, the plot heavy with potential, and my faith in Telltale's skill is high. Consider this score a work in progress then, with the expectation that it will rise over the coming months as Mr Wolf's investigation deepens.

Althought I worried The Wolf Among Us would not live up to the expectation TellTale set with The Walking Dead I found myself unable to stop playing this amazing game... The artwork is amazing and it shows that the game is based on a comic book... The characters are so well developed and everyone has his own personality which affects the way you interact with each and every one of them... The noir feeling this game projects only adds to the amazing atmosphere it creates... I can't wait for Episode 2.... Expand

Which matters more: story or gameplay? Much like Telltale's Walking Dead series, A Wolf Among Us focuses primarily on story and choice rather than the constant thrill of the interactive gaming experience. Unlike the traditional videogame blockbuster that rewards the player with explosive set pieces and constant combat, A Wolf Among Us rewards you for choices and interactions. This uniqueness within the gaming world is what makes this installment so compelling. The pacing is perfect with the tone of the crime drama. Further, the biggest problem Telltale had with the Walking Dead series has been addressed. Specifically: the quicktime events are now more interactive, responsive, and dynamic. There's a rewarding sense of accomplishment when you get to choose whether you throw an opponent against the bookshelf or bash him into the sink. Further, the Fables world is compelling in itself. The story does an excellent job of immersing the player such that both fans of the comic series and newcomers will be intrigued and rewarded. This effort by Telltale is even more accessible than it's Walking Dead games. Still, if you're more interested in non-stop action over a compelling and interactive story, you should probably stick with Call of Duty. If however, you want an adult drama that rewards the way you play, I'd recommend A Wolf Among Us. Expand

Telltale does it again with another great "interactive story." If you were a fan of Telltale's "The Walking Dead" series, then odds are you will like this one as well. Great story backed up by great voice-acting. The fram-rate was laggy at times (especially during the action scene), and it did take away from the experience, but not to the point that it hindered my ability to play it (I hope that a title update fixes this problem for future episodes).

I am eagerly awaiting eps. 2-5 and season 2 of "The Walking Dead."

Well, let´s cut it short: Ahe art design, the dialogues, the story telling and foremost the characters are extremely well done, if you judge aan adventure by that, it´s a true masterpiece. However, don´t forget that the solution to most "problems" in the game are pretty obvious, and it´s quite short even for a first episode.

However, it is still a game every TT fan can buy without remorse.

A sad title that unfortunately goes under the false pretense that It is a video game when In fact, by English definitions, It's clearly an interactive video. Much like It's excessively-bragged about predecssor, the smelly dead. People who want story, go back to reading the comics. People who want video-games, go find something else to play. Expand
