When the dust settles, and you head to your local game store, or big box to buy Undisputed, you won't be disappointed.
  2. Feb 13, 2012
Despite its flaws, I'd say that the game as a whole is a must-buy for fans of the series.
  3. Feb 15, 2012
Fans of mixed martial arts will find a must-have in UFC Undisputed, a very complex and demanding game with lots of content. Newcomers will enjoy a more approachable game thanks to the new Amateur control. THQ has achieved to improve the series and again delivers and impressive chapter that it not only a good game for UFC and MMA followers, but also one of the greatest simulation and combat games around.
  4. Feb 10, 2012
There is plenty of rich content, gameplay, and unlockables in UFC Undisputed 3 to crown it the champion of MMA games. But with little to no competition, lets hope each installment can continue advancing as much as this one.
  5. Feb 10, 2012
And really, that's what makes Undisputed 3 work. It's super accessible for anyone moderately familiar with fighters, yet has an insane amount of depth for those willing to spend time with the game. That generally seems to be the hallmark of any great fighter, and I think UFC Undisputed fits that bill. There are still a few kinks to be ironed out, but certainly less than were present in previous years.
  6. Feb 10, 2012
With a far more approachable career mode (as well as the title modes and awesome title defense mode which plays out like it sounds), robust and deep combat system, great atmosphere, sexy graphics bolstered by entertaining and spot-on commentary by Rogan and Goldberg, UFC Undisputed 3 is easily the best iteration of the series.

The game is fun and exciting to play, and it's great fun leading your fighter to championship glory. [May 2012, p.65]
  8. Apr 4, 2012
Despite a learning curve, gameplay is very smooth, with a first-class presentation, from the fighter introductions, to the actual UFC announcers and referees, to the good audio features of the crowd and impact of punches and kicks onto each fighter.

While I still feel as though EA made a better, and extremely under rated game, MMA fighting game with EA MMA, I do think that THQ has been able to match them with the newest UFC game, due to a great overhaul of the control system and an all most never ending amount of fun available, because of all the added features like Pride FC, and the Title Defense section.
  10. Feb 29, 2012
This third iteration is by far the best one. It's as pretty as ever, deeper and richer content-wise, and probably the best MMA "realistic" title today. Its only shortcoming : the new submission system, that seems a little too random. Other than that, if you're a fan, get it!
  11. Feb 21, 2012
Undisputed 3 is a hearty revival of a franchise that has successfully managed to bottle the essence of a sport rapidly growing in popularity, and the brutal strategy contained within offers a little bit of everything for stalwarts and newcomers alike.
  12. Feb 20, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 is the standout of the series thus far, gameplay is the best yet and the amount of content on offer is incredible. Career mode may be the main focus for these games, but it is the Title and Ultimate Fights modes that offer up the most rewarding experience. Whether you are new to the series or an old pro, this is worth picking up and is easily the best sports fighting game on the market.
  13. Feb 17, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 is the new edition of THQ's popular franchise dedicated to mixed martial arts. The improved combat system, the simplified and fun career mode with a huge roster make this game the best MMA simulation of all time.
  14. Feb 17, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 is the new king of realistic fighting games. It may not innovate much, but what it does, it does perfectly.
  15. Feb 15, 2012
The detailed Pride Mode and the new control settings for beginners alone would make UFC Undisputed 3 worth the money. Add the great career mode, over 150 original athletes and a perfect UFC atmosphere and you have a dream product for every MMA Fan.
  16. Feb 13, 2012
THQ and Yuke's bring the sport to life, and it says something about their efforts when the worst aspects of their product are minuscule in comparison to its overall value. UFC 3 makes it easy to get wrapped up in the tactical strategy of MMA fighting while maintaining the pace and difficulty at a challenging level.
  17. Feb 13, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 takes no prisoners. Even though the franchise remains as imposing as ever, it's nigh-impossible to claim that this installment is not a staggering improvement. Short of bludgeoning and bloodying us over the head, UFC Undisputed 3 will handily convince its hardcore audience of its new conditioning.
  18. Feb 13, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 offers a tremendous amount of content. It is the best UFC title to date and one you shouldn't miss out on.
  19. Feb 10, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 is an all-around major improvement over previous games in the series.
  20. Feb 10, 2012
A superb experience, sure to both delight fighting game fans and bring complete newbies into the fold.
  21. Feb 10, 2012
An example of what every sports simulation game should be. By choosing not to be bound by how people think of the sport, Yukes managed to deliver a product that is both more realistic and enjoyable than both of the previous UFC titles. Any game that can make me a fan of its subject matter overnight is a winner in my book.
  22. Feb 9, 2012
The sheer amount of new content in UFC Undisputed 3 is staggering. The devs have managed to combine elements to make the experience less intimidating while still adding in a ton of new features to keep hardcore fans engaged.
  23. Feb 14, 2012
The new submission system copies a page out of EAs MMA conceptbook, but it works well and adds depth to the already convincing fighting system that gives you loads of options to try and dominate your opponent, regardless where the fight takes place in the octagon.
  24. Feb 26, 2012
Definitely the best MMA game around: deep, complex and satisfying, UFC Undisputed 3 improves THQ's series in almost every area, delivering us a must-have game for any ring sports lover. Our only complaint is about the still shaky net-code, an area in which Yuke's should focus all its efforts for the next game.

A real treat for any MMA fan. Deep, strategic and very, very fair. [March 2012, p.90]
  26. Feb 10, 2012
Longtime fans may appreciate the engorged roster and Pride rule set, but others may not find the extra purchase, or year long break, justifiable by any other regard. Bear no reservations if you're looking for another year of top notch brawling in the octagon, but if it's evolution you're looking for, Undisputed doesn't deliver.
  27. Feb 10, 2012
After putting in more than a dozen hours, it is very clear to me that UFC Undisputed 3 came to play. The improvements across the board show the results of the extended development cycle, and it has paid off. Every facet of the game has been made more accessible, and the new submission system removes a huge issue with the two previous games.

  29. Feb 13, 2012
UFC 3 is the best iteration of the series. There is plenty of rich content and solid gameplay.
  30. Mar 16, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 stands at the cusp of being the best MMA game currently on the market. The simpler alternate control scheme is a great way to make the game more accessible to casual fans of the sport. The trimmed-down campaign mode is more user-friendly and faster, and the level of customization is excellent. The inclusion of Pride FC gives the title some depth. Some aspects of the fighting, especially the submission system, needs some work, and the current online issues immensely hurt the game. Despite these issues, fans of the sport won't be disappointed with UFC Undisputed 3.
  31. Feb 20, 2012
The solid base THQ built themselves two years ago has progressed massively, making this game the most complete experience yet.
  32. Feb 13, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 has an improved career mode, submission system and more realistic animations for the biggest roster in the genre. The Pride mode is also good stuff. Better than its predecessors.
  33. Feb 12, 2012
Really, that's what UFC Undisputed 3 is all about: Great options surrounding solid core gameplay. Whether you're new player, ready to be taught what the game has to offer or a veteran coming back for the myriad improvements or additions, a competitive fighter looking for a balanced playing field to match skills or a huge fan of the sport coming in for the 150 fighters represented at different points in their career, the game's got something for everyone who could possibly be interested in it.
  34. Feb 10, 2012
A new control scheme and deeper career mode should lure fans back that were turned off by the last game for one more go in the octagon.
  35. Feb 10, 2012
With the extra development time given for Undisputed 3, it's strange to see just how similar it is to the prior entries in the series.
  36. 85
By far the most commendable feature is the massive influx of new fighters and divisions within UFC 3. The Featherweight and Bantamweight classes (imported from UFC's recently absorbed sister company, WEC) add faster and more agile fighters to the Undisputed roster, but the bigger addition comes by way of Pride FC, the former Japan-based MMA promotion purchased by the UFC in 2007.
  37. Mar 2, 2012
THQ has, once again, put together a strong MMA fighting game with the UFC license. UFC 3: Undisputed will, ultimately, please MMA fans. Its attention to detail and inclusion of many likable fighters and big personalities from the sport will draw you in and the hefty fighting system will keep you coming back, despite its flaws.
  38. Feb 15, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 is a triumphant return for the ultimate fighting champion, with more modes and options than you can shake a clenched fist at. In the octagon, the action is tighter, more fluid and still fun to play, but the submission system seems like a misstep and overall, we can't shake the feeling that deep down, it's essentially more of the same.
  39. Feb 12, 2012
The fighting is as frantic or as tactical as you want to make it. It's easy to get started, but has plenty of depth. And, lets not mess around, there's a lot of very fit, very brutal men, handing out vicious, blood splattered beatings.
  40. 80
UFC Undisputed 3 is a bit of a weird one. On one hand, the developers have done a good job and made a clear effort to improve everything that was wrong with previous games. But on the other hand, a lot of the improvements are too minor to warrant any extraordinary amount of merit. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game, in fact it's probably the best one thus far out of the series. But the real problem here lies in the game's general structure – the career mode is sorely lacking and in need of a complete overhaul.

The best Undisputed game to date, and arguably the best MMA simulation currently in existence. [Issue#82, p.84]
  42. Mar 1, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 is a continual refinement of systems that THQ established several years ago, but when you add up all its features, you end up with superbly well-rounded fighter.
  43. Feb 29, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 is a fantastic fighting experience. THQ did right by allowing the developers more time to polish the experience. For me the next step has to be to get a deeper more engaging career mode that allows the player to really feel part of the experience rather than just fighting match after match without any real hook. With that being said UFC Undisputed 3 on its own merits is a great game and worth a look if you're a UFC fan.
  44. Feb 28, 2012
With more fluid and natural, mo-capped animations, better presentation and the introduction of PRIDE, Undisputed 3 showcases progression in all the right areas, giving fans the ultimate MMA experience.

  46. Feb 23, 2012
This one will get your adrenalin pumping! UFC Undisputed 3 is not perfect, but it's a great representation of digital MMA.
  47. Feb 20, 2012
Gamers that are interested in the sport owe it to themselves to get UFC Undisputed 3. Fans will enjoy the improvements, and, simply put, it is the best MMA game out there today. It seems the spare time helped Yuke's concentrate on the feedback and critique that people had complained about. Playing UFC is ruthless, a ton of fun, and you can do it all in the safety of your own home. The undisputed king is still undisputed in the mix martial arts fighting genre.
  48. Feb 20, 2012
The premier MMA title that will appeal to all fight fans, whether you like the sport or not.
  49. Feb 15, 2012
Undisputed 3 is incredibly large, complex and well made. It is not, however, a newbie friendly game that you can just pick up and play. Just as in real life it'll take time, practice and determination to become the master of MMA.
  50. Feb 14, 2012
A game that's best enjoyed with likeminded fight fans, on the same couch and with the same competitive spirit. There's still room for the perfect MMA game, one that's more organic, more convincing and probably even more violent, but for now, just strap those gloves on and enjoy the madness.
  51. 80
There's a lot of fisticuffs packed in, with a massive 114 fighters from the world of UFC to choose from, as well as the ability to create your own brawler (though the customisation options are more serious than THQ's WWE games - you won't be fighting in a zombie mask).
  52. Feb 14, 2012
As culmination of three years in which we've gone from a scattered lineage of average UFC games to a genuine contender for the best sports fighter available today, Undisputed 3 is, on all counts, a round three technical knockout.
  53. Feb 14, 2012
A thoroughly enjoyable fighting game, striking a wonderful balance between shallow action and simulation. Personality issues aside, once the bell rings, the action is superb, offering incredible levels of strategy, not to mention some of the most impressive knockouts we've ever seen.
  54. Feb 14, 2012
Submission system issues aside, UFC Undisputed 3 is a great recreation of an incredibly complex sport. Compared to a TV broadcast, fights can still feel slightly mechanical but perhaps that's a symptom of videogames in general rather than the design of this particular one. If you like the UFC, this one's a no-brainer.
  55. Feb 13, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 raises the bar for MMA games and is harder to put down than a heavyweight champ.
  56. Feb 13, 2012
The fighting engine has been polished to a sheen, and those who want to play the title at a competitive level will find that it is designed in such a way that they can develop their own fighting style fairly easily. Those who are just fans of the UFC, though, and want a game that captures that experience, will find that the game is lacking in the accoutrements that would make it a great hobbyist work as well as an intricate and involved fighting game.
  57. Feb 10, 2012
With the extra time, the developers were able to truly polish the game, bring forth a game that, while flawed, doesn't have any glaring issues. It's more accessible without losing any of the complexity, it's deeper without being isolating, and it's bursting with content, even if we wish the content was implemented better.
  58. Feb 21, 2012
UFC Undisputed 3 may not be flashy but it gets the job done by recreating the strategy and position game of real MMA matches along with the brutal punches and kicks. Despite an awful mini-game that decides the outcome of submission holds, once you start playing UFC Undisputed 3, it won't make you tap out anytime soon.
  59. 70
UFC Undisputed 3 is a better game than its predecessors, but while the developers get a lot of things right, it still feels as if they're scared of moving too far away from the foundations they laid with the first game. Until that happens, it's hard to imagine a UFC game that truly lives up to the potential of the sport.
  60. Feb 16, 2012
The gaming mechanics and presentation are spot-on, but the UFC fighting feels a bit too stiff sometimes.
