Warface's first impression is good, but when you start to dive deeper into the game, you'll encounter some disturbing issues. Unlocking items is very hard to complete and for some people that is enough to stop playing the game completely. The overall experience is mediocre, but just won't do it for some players.

An average game made viable by its low barrier to entry - but outperformed in almost every way by the giants of its genre. One to dabble with, but think before committing real money.

Warface is exactly like every other war-based shooter you can think of. [Issue#112, p.80]

Currently, Warface has a functional (but bland) versus mode, and a fun (but dysfunctional) co-op mode.

It was like a piece of Call of DutyThis war by far the best shooter game I have ever experienced, and outperforms any Call of Duty any day. It was like a piece of Call of Duty mostly in the controller, a piece of Farcry, Crysis ,and Ghost Recon in its graphics and "hit/miss" as I call it, a piece of Battlefield in many of it's in-game concepts, and a rather large chunk of Medal of Honer making up most of the rest of the game, with very little problems in classic pvp multiplayer that ruin the game for most people in the later Call of Duty that we all know as "CoD logic". Once used to the added armor system, more complex and balanced melee system, and other bits of realism. This game to many would be like a chance to play Call of Duty without CoD logic. As someone who wishes to create the next generation of video games, I myself could best describe this as inspiration, and I, as well as countless others think it was a poor decision to pull this game from the Xbox community. Previous comments about the connectivity issues were valid over a week ago, NOT NOW.
Don't judge this game on past comments that have no value in them.

This game is bringing new features on a daily basis, if anything it might make COD producers stop over-charging for maps and other things all the time and make them come up with something new instead of every COD is the same but with new maps.

I had to make my first review because this game needs credit

It is a good mix of call of duty, counter-strike, and battlefield game mechanics. The game strongly encourages teamwork. Very fair point system as well; you don't have to worry about others "stealing" your kills because you receive points based on how much damage you dealt. And you receive points whenever you help out teammates. The co-op missions are also a blast! Great graphics. Your character can also slide and shoot, which works very well in game and is very and it is very satisfying when you perform a slide kill. You also don't need to buy anything to enjoy the game and still be competitive. I did purchase a booster pack for $5 that increases the rate that your earn cash and xp; without the pack it takes quite a while to unlock guns and equipment. I've been bored of call of duty games for a while now and this game is a perfect change of pace. Give it a try! You might be surprised as I was. *I just started playing this game in July and I've heard from a lot of players that it has improved quite a bit as they keep updating it. So far I haven't had any issues with bugs or on-line play. Expand

And as such, reviews like this are exactly what the devo team are hoping to see in order to make the appropriate tweaks. Here's my suggestions from the POV of a gamer reflecting on gameplay:

the co-op action needs balance. One of the most off-setting elements is when players encounter a "special enemy" (heavy trooper, someone with a significant health gauge). It's cool to have a challenge. But the challenge is far too great with the heavy trooper whose only weakness is the miniscule white light on his back, which is ridiculously anno'ying to shoot at.

I wouldn't mind fighting more of these guys if they weren't made so unrealistically tough.

Also, team failure results in the end of the co-op match. big mistake. it takes so long just to find a match, and even when you do, who knows if the host in the lobby is paying attention to launch the game. one could be jumping lobby to lobby for a LONG time. Or when you jump in, you do so just as a team is losing, or has already lost-- back to the lobby.

This is painful, annoying, and time consuming.

I would like this game much more if upon losing everyone spawned at the last checkpoint, or the beginning of the mission.

Enemy AI doesn't seem to have the will to live. They run right out at you. This makes the game feel like it came out of the 90s. With more demand for realism in games, i too would liek ot see adversaries with a sense of self preservation, ie taking cover, calling for back up (maybe have sections of were if those enemies arent taken out within a time limit back up arrives, or other sections of a map where enemies infinitely spawn until the team can advance despite that spawn and thus disrupt that spawn).

I'm not concerned about graphics or hit detection (which are issues) but i feel those issues are usually on devos minds anyway and it will be handled.

Balance, respawn, and enemy AI--these are my suggestions.

Disconnected more times thenWarface Beta started out pretty cool, but since the update I have a hard time connecting to a any game level. Disconnected more times then playing. Also you can not tell when players are ready to play, not sure if in vendor, or repairing armor or what is up. What really stinks when you have played a game and die at the very end and receive very little points. Looking forward to seeing the developers keep progressing and making improvements to the game. It is fun to play once you get in. One thing did the skills change seems pretty hard to kill the enemy in Regular game now? Expand
