The shooting system has been the subject of extensive retouching, now enabling players to pull off much more accurate snap shots as well as being able to exert a much larger feeling of control when going for quick half volleys or difficult full volleys. The intelligence of players has seen a marked improvement. For example, players now make more realistic runs into space, often pointing where they would like the ball played. The physical aspect has also been beefed up, with strikers using their sheer presence to turn defenders and likewise, the defenders stepping a yard away to enable them to force players away from goal and not letting them spin into dangerous positions. PES 6 also has a number of new teams licensed for inclusion, with the International roster now featuring the official kits for Argentina, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Sweden. New gameplay modes have been added and features like the much loved Master League mode also returns, together with a host of new tricks, feints and animations that can be used to bamboozle your opposition. 1. In PES6 you can make a sliding tackle and come up with the ball, and the AI has been greatly improved. The passing and shooting have been made harder to master and the players’ movement off the ball is better.
  2. The best football game available for any format. Period.
  3. Looks a little better than the previous incarnations but is mostly quite familiar. The lacking editing possibilities of the 360 version are a disappointment, but the game itself is still as fun as ever. [Dec 2006]
  4. Although the game's presentation is markedly improved, it seems as though we'll have to wait until Pro Evolution Soccer 7 marks its appearance on the PlayStation3 before we really see what Seabass can muster with the next-generation.
  5. Gripes about PES prove a modern-day "Princess and the Pea" story. The general excellence of the game's simulation serves to unduly highlight one measly kilobite of pure devil's armpit. [Issue 13, p.96]

They need to elevate PES to the next stage of its life that it so deserves, and the only way they can do that is to give players more of what they want rather than take from them.
  7. There’s just far too much disappointment in PES6 to make it fun; I’m not talking about hype or other people's opinions here, I’m talking about a company too lazy to address the problems that have plagued the series pretty much since the start.

This is the best football/soccer video game made to date. It takes up all my video game playing time. Very addictive, realistic game play. I think this game is about as good as it can be given the limits caused by licensing. The gameplay and matchplay have all improved but it is I think this game is about as good as it can be given the limits caused by licensing. The gameplay and matchplay have all improved but it is hard to ignore the lack of edit modes and save replay functions. These issues are all that stop this game from being a 10 in my opinion and (on the pitch at least) it will be hard to make pes 7 much better. Expand

It's not say it's not any good, because it is, it's just Pro Evo 5 was and is so much better. To say that the passing is harder seems an excuse: It's just broken (from the previous version). The AI seems to have been broken also (again comparing to PES5). I can't stress enough just how frustrating this title is to play if you've mastered PES5. I've spent years and years growing up with PES and I'm huge huge fan of the franchise, but my experince with PES6 on the 360 is leaving me a bitter taste in my mouth; everytime I play it! I expected something better, as I've been given in each rendition in the past, but this is by far the tamest and lamet effort Konami have made so far. If you like the Pro Evo franchase, don't kid yourself and pretend this is better than the previous titles - just because it's new. Just go back to PES5 and write this one off as a bad apple. Collapse

First up Mr. Seabass what a let down! Now I'm a big pro evo fan but what I always thought about pro evo was this; it was never perfect First up Mr. Seabass what a let down! Now I'm a big pro evo fan but what I always thought about pro evo was this; it was never perfect but you allways had the feeling that one day it would be. This I thought was it ....... no.6........But no, it just hasnt come together? in fact it feels like the series is going backwards. the sheer power of the computer players, the BLINDNESS of the ref! and no editing ??? what ? I couldn't believeit? Sort it out Seabass......please. Expand

As said above really, I love pro evo and have played number 5 to death on xbox live, but this just doesn't cut it. Passing has been As said above really, I love pro evo and have played number 5 to death on xbox live, but this just doesn't cut it. Passing has been ruined, it isn't harder, it just doesn't work. The players seem slow and unresponsive as is the speed of the ball, it actually at times feels like you are playing footy on the moon. I keep putting the game on, playing it and trying to make it work, hope that something will click and it will become playable, but alas its not happening, I just want to play pro evo 5 again. Poor.
