This is one of the most fun multiplayer games around, and now the single-player campaign provides a satisfying experience, as well.
  2. By improving on its predecessor, Worms 2: Armageddon adeptly captures the thrill and hilarity of this classic series.

Best weapons to date, crystal clear sound, easier control than previous Worms games.
  4. For the $10 price of admission, Worms 2: Armageddon is a hard game to pass up if you've ever remotely been interested in the series. There's a slew of content here and lots of replay value due to the massive quantity of unlockables and level of customization that the game allows.
  5. While the unlocking system is a pain to get used to, the unlocks make it worth suffering through, for the most part. And like the first Worms, Armageddon supports DLC, so there's a good chance extra content will be showing up by the time you are through with everything it has to offer. Worms, assemble!
  6. $10 of joy. [Oct 2009, p.82]
  7. An emergent party game that's fun for everyone to take part in even if they don't crawl away the victor. [July 2009, p.130]
  8. Armageddon is one of the best recent party games in the Arcade service of Xbox 360, and probably the best Worms game to date.

Worms 2: Armageddon is a worthy follow-up to 2007's Worms. With an improved online infrastructure, new vertical levels and a variety of gameplay options, the game will keep you entertained for a long time.
  10. This Xbox 360 edition is the best Worms game to date, but the concept could definitely use an overhaul.
  11. Worms 2: Armageddon is the complete XBLA answer to the franchise that fans have been waiting for. Worms 2 is also good enough for me to recommend it to new fans of the series; even more so than the free PC demos floating about in cyberspace.

The campaign mode is genuinely good fun, mixing in puzzle levels that really do challenge you to think outside of the box.
  13. Still awesome online. [Aug 2009, p.94]
  14. Love it, loathe it or ignore it, the formula always works. [Issue#47, p.100]
  15. If you haven't played Worms before, pick this up. Otherwise, you're probably best to stick with what you've got. Worms 2: Armageddon is great fun, just as it was ten years ago.
  16. Why Team17 didn't just make this game the first time around instead of last year's abomination, I don't know, but it was worth the wait. Fortunately, this time it's actually worth looking into.
  17. The new weapons, improved campaign and great Xbox LIVE game modes make Worms 2: Armageddon, like its predecessor, a contender for best Xbox LIVE Arcade title.
  18. This Worms release is by far one of the best in recent memory and does an excellent job of providing fresh graphics that remain true to the original style.
  19. Between all of the solo gaming available, the tons of fun you can have on Xbox Live, and the potential for more of both with DLC, you're looking at a great purchase for just 800 Microsoft Points ($10 / £6.80).
  20. The best Worms ever. [Sept 2009, p.103]
  21. Worms 2: Armageddon is a great arcade title that offers more content than most retail boxes, and at times, better gameplay.
  22. Worms 2 is one of the most enjoyable arcade games out there. If you want an addictive multiplayer game for no more than 800 MS points then there is none better.
  23. At the end of the day, Worms 2: Armageddon is an entertaining game and is a breath of fresh air from stock standard sports and shooters.
  24. Though I slightly miss the facility to generate random landscape types, this is a tiny insignificant niggle. Worms 2: Armageddon is sublime and should definitely be high on your XBLA shopping list.

Worms has come a long way. And this, is one of the best Worms game out there. The graphics are pretty nice and it has decent weapons choices. Because, the more weapons at your disposal, the more fun and addicting it is. Especially with multiplayer mode. Multiplayer is totally, the best part of the game, as you can spend time with a friend blowing each other up. That aside, the campaign is pretty decent and can get quite challenging at parts. In the end, Worms 2: Armageddon is a great game, that you should get if you get the chance. It earns a 9/10 from me. Full Review »

Worms has always been one of the greatest multiplayer videogames of all time, the lazy mans chess. The problem with Armageddon 2 is that there are too many overly destructive weapons, the game is at it's best when the weapon set is customised to be limited, no ninja ropes, no concrete donkey's or super sheep the best way it is played is with banana bombs and bazookas. Overall I have had many hours fun playing this game with friends. Full Review »

Controlling teams of up to four worms in turn based battles across fully destructible environments Worms Armageddon remains amongst the very best offline (or online for that matter!) multiplayer experiences available on any console. Full Review »
