For now, a solid party game and is well worth a go at your next get together.

Only those who have a taste for the seventh art will get a real kick out of it and also, overlook some of the issues that prevents it from being the most amazing thing to happen to the Kinect platform since its launch last November.
  3. Dec 12, 2011
The game can be fun, but it's strictly a multiplayer affair, and it needs more meat. As it stands, it feels a bit like the publishers' way to lead owners into a world of endless microtransactions.
  4. Apr 25, 2011
A great concept with plenty of content that will have you and your friends in stitches while it lasts, but the technology is a bit ropey and the initial charm wears off pretty quickly. [Issue#71, p.82]

Despite its expansive career-mode, Yoostar 2 is a title that you'll play fanatically for days on end. It's prominently a game used to breathe new life into parties. The game's concept is decent and offers enough options for someone to pretend they're a famous actor alone, or with a friend. The technical issues however, hold it back from reaching certain stardom.
  6. Mar 20, 2011
Yoostar 2 could have been very entertaining if it wasn't for some defects like the awkward player positioning in front of the camera and some user interface problems. Moreover, Arcade console owners without an Hard Drive won't be able to fully use the game: an information that should have been evident on the game's cover, rather than being hidden in tiny print on the back.
  7. Mar 8, 2011
Despite its technical imperfections, Yoostar 2 can be enjoyable if you step out of your shell and be a total ham. Bring in some friends for a full cast, and you'll get some laughs during your acting debut.

On paper (or celluloid) Yoostar 2 is a great idea, but it's hampered by a sloppy user interface, blocky outlines, Kinect tics and a weird mix of movie clips. It's guaranteed to provide a few hours of entertainment and some hearty belly laughs, but ultimately, Yoostar 2 is a bit of a box-office flop.
  9. Mar 24, 2011
Yoostar 2 could be a barrel of laughs and really is if you have the means and gathering of friends and social buddies to enjoy it, but keep in mind all isn't glamorous in this Hollywood setting. If you have all the right components, Yoostar 2 could be the "Rock Band" of the actor's guild. For the rest of us, it may be more worth it to rent or watch a movie in its entirety.

Ultimately, though, it feels like an elaborate gimmick--more a faded star than a true Hollywood legend. [April 2011, p.82]
  11. Good for a few laughs with some mates (and some DLC), but it's still a bit of a turkey. [June 2011, p.100]
  12. Apr 19, 2011
The basic idea of Yoostar 2 seems perfect for the Kinect, but too many technical issues means this should be left of the cutting room floor.
  13. Apr 18, 2011
In the end, there are only a few words to say. Nice try once again, Yoostar, but I would stay with the movies and their original cast.
  14. Apr 17, 2011
Really fun idea to be a part of movies, but the technique just isn't working.
  15. Apr 4, 2011
An interesting idea, with 80 scenes from some of the most memorable movies ever. But Yoostar 2 is heavily flawed by some technical problems and the fact that the aforementioned 80 scenes are far too few.
  16. A fun party game with limited appeal.
  17. Mar 29, 2011
But its technical troubles, lack of selection, and thin depth of actual gameplay mean you shouldn't consider buying it unless you're a seriously dedicated fan of inserting yourself into classic movie clips.

Yoostar 2's developer Blitz Games got it right by calling their game a 'movie karaoke' experience – and in all senses of the word, it truly is best defined this way. Having your bodily image projected into film and TV scenes is as charming as it tedious in practice. But more so than many other party games, the on-disc limitations of choice on offer as well as the brevity of each film's clips might spoil the experience for some.

Yoostar doesn't so much put you in the movies as put you next to a mangled clip of the movies. [June 2011, p.89]
  20. Apr 4, 2011
Maybe with better tech this one could become a box office smash, but for right now, you should leave it on the cutting room floor.
  21. Apr 6, 2011
As a concept, Yoostar 2 is amazing. As a game, it fails miserably.
  22. Mar 11, 2011
    Quotation forthcoming.
  23. Apr 18, 2011
Everyone (and their mother) wants to be a movie star. But unfortunetly, Yoostar 2 is so casual, horrenous and broken that it makes Wii Fit look like a true hardcore title. Avoid this crap at all costs. The nicest thing to say about it, is that it is laughably bad.
  24. Jun 5, 2011
Yoostar 2 had the potential to be a solid, if not downright innovative, party game. Unfortunately, technical issues derailed it before it could even get going, as the game is barely playable out of the box and makes the effort far outweigh the enjoyment.

One of the most unique games I've played, unique in that there was not a single moment that was truly fun.

I'm going to have to admit, this game is fun for a bit, certainly with friends, there is a decent amount of movie moments but they are all the best parts of those movies, this game is underrated, its not a 10/10 game, but it certainly isn't getting what it deserves, i found this fun for a while and i think over people will if they give it a chance

    Overall = 7.2/10

So much fun!! if you cant get along with this you're retarded!! Good party/drinking game... Other critics seem to lack friends, obviously this would make the game boring...Shame that online and dlc was shut down, hope for a future next gen release! Full Review »
