  • Summary: This new chapter in the Call of Duty franchise features a unique dynamic in which players are on the side of a crippled nation fighting not for freedom, or liberty, but simply for survival. 10 years after a devastating mass event, the nation's borders and the balance of global power have been permanently redrawn. As what's left of the nation's Special Operations forces, a surreptitious group known only as "Ghosts" leads the fight back against a newly emerged, technologically-superior global power. There are over 20 NEW Kill Streaks in Call of Duty: Ghosts — such as Juggernaut Maniac, Helo-Scout, Vulture and the ODIN Strike. You can even bring in Riley, from the single-player campaign, as your guard dog to warn you when enemies approach, and to attack enemies if they get too close to your person. Expand

    When comparing the PS4 and Xbox One versions side-by-side, there’s little to no variation in textures and effects, but there is a discernible difference in resolution. While both are displayed at 1080p, the Xbox One version upscales the game from 720p resolution. In contrast, the PS4 version runs natively at 1080p, which makes character models, weapons, and environments look noticeably sharper and more detailed. The difference is especially apparent on larger-sized TVs, where pixel density weighs more heavily in picture quality.

    Ghosts had potential to be more than it is. As the first series entry on new consoles and the first of what will assuredly be a new brand, I was disappointed to see it resemble its predecessors even more than the franchise typically does. Even without its own significant hook or sense of identity, however, Ghosts is still fun thanks to Call of Duty’s polished and reliable backbone that’s been established for years.

    Call Of Duty: Ghosts is a familiar experience, but it’s been fine tuned to almost perfection. The multiplayer is the best it’s been in a long time.

    Infinity Ward has lost capacity, it's out of ideas. Call of Duty: Ghosts is the same blast of scripts in single-player and the conventional formula in multiplayer. That's all. Fun and addictive as always, this game is silent in your Call of Duty collection, it leaves no trace.

    Call of Duty: Ghosts is a mess of a game. That’s not to say that it’s nonfunctional or bad to play, rather, it loses sight of its core principles and eschews an amazing opportunity with the advent of our transition to next-gen, as well as being the first true IW CoD sans Zampella and West, through poorly constructed (and utilised) tech, half-assed delivery of modes and a single-player campaign that sets the series back more than a few years.

    Quite simply, it’s hard to tell much difference between this and the 360 version. Textures are muddy, lines are jagged and it lacks the smooth anti-aliasing of the PS4 edition. It’s hard to tell exactly what this version provides that justifies labeling it as a next generation game.

    Giving it a 10 because 2 trolls who havent even played the Xbox One version have already troll reviewed the xbox one version... its a cod game that plays like cod..if you like cod then this is cod.. a fun arcade casual shooter Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The internet has a metaphorical stick up its butt when it comes to COD, but hating on this game, Ghosts, because it's part of a series (one of the most successful) is illogical. I don't understand how a gamer could rate this game below a 6 if they are honest and unbiased with themselves and the game itself.

    Campaign: The campaign, although relatively formulaic, linear, and standard for an FPS, was entertaining, thrilling, and at moments breath-taking. I know that sounds like hyperbole, but Infinity-Ward delivered in some key moments. *SPOILERS AHEAD* There were several memorable parts where I was legitimately surprised at what was happening on screen, most notably was the level where you're in a city in a valley and a dam is destroyed to flood you out. You can watch the missiles hit the dam, destroy it over a mile away and watch the water rush into the city towards you, if you don't move off the main street, you can literally watch the water approach until you get washed away. Later in the level you are crouching below the surface of a flooded city and stealth killing soldiers from underneath. The stealth mission inside the Federation capital is also awesome. And the KEM strikes which decimate LA in the first mission were also pretty jaw-dropping.

    Multi-player: If you don't enjoy twitch-reaction arcade shooters, then this game isn't for you. But as far as twitch-reaction shooters go, this is the best one out there. The game is fair and very well-balanced. There is a counter for every single set up. Is the other team running 4 snipers? There's a whole new class of semi-auto weapons "Marksman Rifles" that have quicker ADS (Aim Down Sight) times and higher rates of fire than snipers, which if used correctly, can flush snipers out of any area. The Support kill-streak reward system allows for beginners to play a more supportive/conservative role and yet still offer significant benefits to your team in any gametype because your streak persists after death.

    The maps are generally larger than COD maps have been in the past, especially Black Ops 2. This is opens up the field of loadouts that you see people running. AR's are the "go-to" guns, but they can be out-classed by SMG's, if the SMG's stick to corners and stay out of long sight lines, and snipers and marksman rifles, if you stay at range and hold down choke points and critical regions of the maps. Shotguns seem to be serve few functions except on the smaller maps, (which I personally have no problem with). The spawn logic also seems to have a few issues. You may notice getting killed and then spawning very near to the player who just killed you.

    Overall, the game is very fair and balanced, and rewards teamwork and communication very well, as it should. You might see a person "go-off" in a TDM game and think Ghosts and COD is all lone-wolf, but that is definitely not the case.

    Graphics: The graphics are excellent (I've played the 360 and Xbone versions). The detail and design in the levels is superb, and the lighting effects in the Xbone version are awesome. The surfaces and textures do not react to light as well as would be liked, but they are still visually appealing. It's not the best looking game, and I was never jaw-droppingly "wow-ed" at the graphics, but I still consider them excellent. The visuals are overall, very consistent, and therefore allow you to "get into" the game world and almost never lose immersion.

    Call of Duty Ghosts is the cookie cutter first person shooter that has always been around. The game has a deep story that could provide continuing years of sequels. The answer to the ever so popular zombies mode in Treyarch games is the new Extinction mode, which you fight different types aliens. The story and Extinction help the game, but the multiplayer is weak. The multiplayer felt rushed. There were holes in development with exceptions of online modes, and customizations for players. They added perks which was nice, but lacked in the killstreak department. Expand

    This game excellent for those who hate change. If you enjoyed literally any other Call of Duty game in the past you will find something to like about this one.

    But if you're looking for something innovative, progressive, or creative I'd look elsewhere.

    This game is a poorly crafted mess with clunky and irresponsive controls. The story line is completely cliche and offers nothing new to the experienced FPS players leaving you with nothing but a bad taste in the mouth. The multiplayer aims to insult your intelligence as it thrusts you into an instant loss scenario where you are given pitiful weapons and are constantly at the mercy of the higher ranks merely because you just started. I feel like this game almost makes you far stupider while playing it with enough mindless action to rival bashing your skull against a brick wall which would hurt far less than this monstrosity of a game.     O jogo aquela coisa, mais do mesmo. O mesmo jogo CoD:BO2 com a história um pouco diferente. Black Ops 2 foi muito melhor. O CoD:Ghots realmente está um lixo, gráficos feios, mal produzido, armas fracas. Um fiasco! Expand

    This game is the very best bad game what i see. The multiplayer is very bad, only wants premiums, pass, dlcs, etc,... with pesim graphics.
    The history mode, look better, but, its not a nextgen representative.
    My note is 0, this game isnt valid for rent.
