It's fun when you cooperate with friends and get out of the crowd of zombies by sneaky ways. But due to the dull shooting experience and repeated puzzles, it hardly ever satisfies me.
A bittersweet experience feeling like it's still in beta. You may still enjoy Overkill’s The Walking Dead if you can play it with three friends.

I had no idea what to expect. The game surprised me. The game is difficult but in a good way. The difficulty made me really think about how I approached situations in game. Some trial and error happened for sure. However... if you dig deep into the game you find a level of complexity that might surprise you. There are a ton of things to do. Not just the 13 available missions, but as you play the game you can meet and help people and recruit them to join your camp. There is a camp management system where you can send people on runs. The survivors you recruit can be leveled up. Some become more valuable members of your group than others.
The co-op aspects to this game are great if you can play with a team of four people who understand their roles. The tank must play like a tank. Same for Scout, etc. I was lucky enough to play through the game with a really good group of guys who were good at what they were doing. We coordinated every single move we made. It created a level of intensity to playing that's not easy to achieve against AI threats.
The story is average to me. This game is more about leveling up your characters, your AI surivors, and your camp. You can also farm for rare weapons and attachments by doing missions and finding loot crates.
The zombies in this game are the best zombies I've ever encountered in any game, period. I'm a DayZ early access guy and I've played basically every major zombie game out there. Some of my personal favorite recent zombie games are World War Z, State of Decay, 7 Days To Die, Left For Dead 2, Breaking Point Mod (Arma 3) and the old H1z1. This game has more impressive zombie behavior than anything I've ever seen. The zombies react to sound and movement. Just like in the TV show... the players can trick and distract the zombies by making sound or moving them in a direction. This is a really overlooked, fun element to this game. The more noise you make... the more zombies that come. I've seen gigantic hoards in this game. Extreme moments. Explosions that took down a massive hoard.
Overall... I completely enjoyed this game. I had moments of frustration during the learning curve, but this is one of the best, most rewarding co-op games that I've ever played with friends. Just excellent!

Overkill’s The Walking Dead it feels like a great idea poorly executed. Its action is simple and repetitive, and a lot of bugs ruin the experience.
Despite the excellent foundation on which it is based, Overkill's The Walking Dead is a mediocre production. Although it can still be saved, at present, the excessive repetitiveness and the artificial difficulty imposed by the developers make playing and progressing simply frustrating, ruining the experience.
Blasting through the higher difficulty levels with friends is great fun, and the initial few hours are a pleasure, but once you get into the meat of the game and its myriad of glaring issues, it quickly becomes apparent that this game is not living up to its own potential.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead could have been something special, but it finds itself dragged down by poorly implemented and designed systems. There’s flashes of what could have been, and there’s a chance that Starbreeze will turn this game around in the coming months to rebuild from a poor launch, but as it stands I couldn’t even recommend this game to the most hardcore of The Walking Dead fans.
Imagine reaching the final minutes of an hour-long mission only for your connection to drop and, in turn, your progress to be lost. Overkill’s The Walking Dead certainly stokes the player’s despair, but not the sort that its developers intended.
Ok technically still has some holes, but I do not understand why these little boys pseudo critics have to ruin a title that deserves. The thing that I like most about OTWD is the fact that it feels to be in those actions that characterize so much the TV series. It is not perfect as a game, but I trust in the developers because it has the basis to be an excellent game.

It hurts for me to give this game a somewhat lower score. I've been a fan of The Walking Dead for probably six or seven years now and I have been waiting for a true video game adaptation. After the 2013 mess that was Survival Instinct, I thought hope was lost. Then this bad boy was announced back in 2014. I saw the trailer and was instantly excited. After many delays I was so happy to hear the game was coming out in 2018. Fast forward to this moment. I have played the game for a few hours now and it is definitely fun. Overkill matched the universe perfectly with its level design and overall tone. The gun play is alright, actually reminds me of payday obviously. The melee is not terrible but very repetitive. The graphics, again, are not bad but not earth **** either. The real problem is the game always feels repetitive. Its either you are defending your camp or going out to find something specific... that's all. They did not even try to do something original. I am trying to keep this short so I will end it here. In the end Overkill's The Walking Dead is a very fun game to be honest, but it falls short on what it could/should be. Hopefully they improve the the game with more and original content via updates. They have already announced the upcoming 'Season 2' (starting later this month) which I hope will breathe some extra life into this game.
Note- Telltale's four season adaptation is a masterpiece and every Walking Dead fan needs to play it.

The game is mediocre, repetitive and has its share of bugs. UI is cheap looking and bland. What really pissed me off was it's claims to have Single Player. It doesn't really. Yes you can play the missions Solo with no AI bots and the game is completely impossible to pass the missions on your own. This is a total ZERO for solo players and a 5 for Multi, hence a 4. Easy Pass.

i gave this game multiple chances didnt follow the hate train. but man i regret buying this game. the level design is awful. can not play solo because there is way to many enemes. ai for humans is abslutely terrible, ai for sombies is bad. No one is palying this game. the story is terrible. they try to rip the story from TWD show they have a group that is exactly like the saviors drom the show. the graphics are fine. the missions are long with terrible checkpoints and each missions are dull and boring because your doing the same thing but with diffrent scenery. 3 mission are excatly the same, each map have diffrent variations but the same. they also kill of one of the cahrcter that you can play as so you cant play them anymore. none of the characters are enteresting. the charcters are very dull and boring so you dont care what happenes to them. there is multiple groups that fight you but look and feel exactly the same. overall very boring experience i dont reccomend i would just skip for now. its sad because i was looking forward to this game and i know people are getting bored of zombies games but i always like zombie games and play them but this is just lazy. the only reason this game sold anything at all was because of the name walking dead on it. score 4/10
