  1. Played out against a great backbeat with tracks from San Quinn, Turf Talk, and Rhymefest, And 1 reminds us that basketball isn't just a game; it's a way of life. [Aug 2006, p.78]
  2. And1 Streetball has some good ideas like the pulling off juke moves with the analog stick but unfortunately some technical errors are too much to ignore.
  3. AND 1's cool Create-a-Baller and Create-a-Move modes make the game worth playing, if you yearn for the exaggerated, arcade gameplay in the spirit of NBA Jam, albeit with a lot more street style.

You never quite reach the same pumped-up heights you get while playing similar games, like "NBA Ballers" or "NBA Street" -- and despite the tricks, online play, and generally responsive controls, it would take a serious interest in the AND 1 legacy to maintain any level of interest in this game.
  5. Average would be the word for And 1, but I wouldn't throw Black Ops and Ubi out of the game just yet. A little more polish, reworking of the controls and maybe And 1 Streetball II can play with the big boys.
  6. If you want to ball street-style, both NBA Street and NBA Ballers offers a much better urban hoops experience, with NBA players from the present and past.
  7. Fine in multiplayer, but endless tricking makes games against Xbox tiresome. It's slow-paced novelty basketball. [Aug 2006, p.66]
  8. It had some good ideas in it and its heart was certainly in the right place, but the horrendous execution of all of those ideas is what ultimately leads to the downfall of AND1 Streetball.
  9. A sporty struggle that's all style and no substance.
  10. Too bad the actual b-balling action has been done before and better. [July 2006, p.92]
  11. While there are some decent ideas in And1 Streetball, it feels like the game wasn't refined nearly enough as it should have been. Everything, from the core gameplay to the presentation, seems very roughly executed, so it's difficult to recommend this game to anyone.
  12. AND 1 Streetball mixes in a lot of what's good about street basketball but in the end the overall execution is plagued by glitches and weak controls that makes this one a real playa hater.
  13. While the obnoxious ads shouldn't be taken into account when critiquing a title, its poor execution of nearly every aspect of gameplay warrants plenty of scolding. Placing players in a position early for failure, then failing to reward them with engaging gameplay or satisfactory basketball action is simply unacceptable.
  14. Unless you are a huge AND 1 fan, please avoid this game, otherwise find some cheat codes and unlock the movies. They are the only thing worth public consumption.

Easily one of the weakest basketball games to have come out in a while, primarily thanks to its idiotic control scheme. Having more than 130 moves is a good idea, but if the game won't recognize what you're telling players to do because moves are tied to the analog sticks, it doesn't matter.
  16. From bugs to just simple bad gameplay, this is one that you just have to steer clear from.
  17. 40
It's a shame that the one good idea in this streetball title had to be overshadowed by bad execution and a mediocre presentation.
  18. 40
In a twisted and cruel coincidence, playing no defense is actually more effective than playing defense.
  19. And 1 Streetball ultimately suffers from a lack of effort in every category.
  20. The last glaring negative of this game is the commentary by Duke Tango, which is about as soothing and smooth as listening to Gilbert Gottfried read an epic novel over and over and over again. Ouch.
  21. Other than a ton of moves, this baller has zero street cred.
  22. With core mechanics this flawed, no amount of cut-scene-laden story modes, create-a-move editors or unlockable extras will make up for what is a truly putrid videogame. [Aug 2006, p.127]

There are plenty of mode, player, music choices. I think this game's good. It's a bit of a change from NBA.

Above the rim and over the top! This game delivers on the most authentic street ball game ever. It took a while for it to come out, but it's clean and polished, playing smooth and intuitively. The action is slammin and the game itself is rad. Full Review »
