  1. The gameplay has been honed to near-perfection, showing that a tactical approach doesn't necessarily lead to more complexity.
  2. Does for the World War II first person shooter what "Saving Private Ryan" did for the war movie. Brothers in Arms is the definitive World War II action game and should be experienced by everyone who enjoys a quality shooter.
  3. It offers an incredible story in a medium that is still struggling to elicit a wide range of emotions from its audience, and the authenticity and attention to detail cannot be rivaled by another other game.
  4. Everything about it, including its dazzling sound effects, gritty visuals (that feature a phenomenal "down the gun sight perspective"), chess-like gameplay, and its variety of missions really elevates it above the competition.
  5. 90
The graphics are gritty and realistic, the sounds will make you nervous as hell, and the immense feeling of accomplishment that comes with successfully executing a good strategic assault both in the single-player campaigns as well as multiplayer is overwhelming.
  6. 60
It's disappointing that a bad engine and rushed execution detract from the overall experience, leaving it with nothing really remarkable.

I just thought that should be cleared up before anyone that doesn't know much about the game starts whining. It's all you could want in a war game...lots of shooting, great graphics and squad based gameplay that's fun instead of boring or frustrating. Sound and atmoshereic effects are movie-like. Controls are easy, unlike some squad based games. If you ever liked Call of Duty or Medal of Honor and you don't buy this, well, then you still haven't played the best WW2 game ever. This makes war good again. Expand

The tank levels need save points between tanks, and the squad need more grenades. The aiming is fine - some have complained about it, but you just need to wait for the enemy to pop up and take your shot. AI is variable - I often left my squad in a safe spot to prevent them from standing in the open and killing themselves during a fire fight, but when behind a long wall they performed admirably. Sounds and visuals were excellent. Not much replay value though. Expand

Definitely a niche title. This game had me so amped while the trailers were filtering down but I have come to find out that this game is Definitely a niche title. This game had me so amped while the trailers were filtering down but I have come to find out that this game is nothing spectacular, good. But not great. After the first few stages I became kind of bored of gameplay, and I love realism. But this game (as all other GAMES) has been toned down a bit. Aiming is ridiculous. You can have a clear line of site on someone and still miss either because: A. You just do. or B. You hit part of the geography...it seems like the edges of sandbags extend a bit...invisibly. Overall I regret purchasing this game, it was far too expensive for something so short and "one trick pony". + Immersive levels + Great Sound + Good Game! - Invisible walls galore, the tactical aspect is a JOKE. - Somewhat corny dialouge and poor voice acting (sometimes). - Short. Limited Multiplayer Support. = Totally average game. Expand

1st impression - it stinks!!!! I haven't got a clue what I'm supposed to do and am constrained to a tiny area, the Germans appear 1st impression - it stinks!!!! I haven't got a clue what I'm supposed to do and am constrained to a tiny area, the Germans appear to be bullet proof (or worse it wont let me fire if I might screw the narrative) and then a tank comes along and kills the entire platoon. All the (crap) cutscenes are non skipable so a restart takes about 2 minutes. Not that this game didn't manage to wind me up into a rage in about 30 seconds with it's tedious, moralising monologue and gratuitous dialogue. I'd be getting my money back about now. Expand
