  1. Far from perfect but it certainly does a great job of bringing all the elements surrounding this sport to life.
  2. While the game does deliver on a lot of the essentials of hunting, it also lacks in certain areas as well. The controls feel unresponsive, and the overall pacing of the game is sluggish. The animal A.I. isn’t great, and the graphics are down right ugly.
  3. Compared to "Deer Hunt," the animals in Big Game display a more fluid animation style. The environments suffer from poor textures. More often than not it feels like you're in a bad museum display rather than in the great outdoors.

It would be nice to see a character’s skills increase with specific accomplishments like long range kills and clean shots. A more in depth tutorial would make the game more accessible and could easily tie in with the other hunters that populate some of the regions.
  5. The same old Cabela's issues - jerky control, clumsy animation, extreme disorientation - rear their ugly heads again. [Feb 2005, p.88]

It was a good game i was planning to play it on hard to give me the most realistic hunting feel but it was just too hard im now playing the game on easy and its fun but less real but i would buy it . It's fun because you can have two types of games realy long boring hunting and quick fast paced hunting i give this game an eight because even though hard is so totally hard it has all the real hunting elements and is pretty fun. The game seemed a little slow at first when you were starting out. One thing that slowed it down was the stamina bar. It keeps making you stop, then go, which can take a long time with some of the levels. The graphics wern't the best, but I felt like the animals related better in their surroundings compared to other hunting games I've played. I think some of the animals should try and stock you, instead of attacking only if you got to close, or startled them. Overall, I think the game had a good sequence with the terrains and the lodges, but I thought there could be more places to save the game. Expand
