93This is a markedly better game than "Call of Duty 2: Big Red One" and the finest World War II gameplay on the current-generation consoles.
-
You simply can't imagine what Treyarch has done with the franchise until you see Call of Duty 3 in action. You'll wonder how they got all that game into an Xbox. They have really mastered the technical horsepower of the Xbox and advanced the series in every single way.
-
91The next iteration of Activision's Call of Duty series, Call of Duty 3 for the Xbox, wrings the last dregs of capability from the Xbox aging console and satisfyingly delivers on the promise of an upgraded "Call of Duty 2."
-
89While not as breathtaking as the next-generation version of the game, Call of Duty 3 for the original Xbox will still not fail to impress with its great visuals, intense action and great multiplayer mode.
-
88This is a great example of just how far the Xbox is being pushed in the twilight of its life cycle.
-
82Call of Duty 3 isn't just another first-person shooter that takes place during World War II. It's a fantastic game with great online play and top-notch sound.
-
It's still a great ride; just don't expect to be as bowled over by it as you were when you strapped in for it last year. [Jan. 2007, p.72]
-
The visuals are very well done and the sound is simply incredible, especially with the score it has.
-
While you're obviously not going to get the same experience available on your Xbox's big brother, the 360, the game is no slouch here.
-
74Here's hoping that Infinity Ward's eventual return to the saga won't leave gamers with such a bland and lifeless taste in their mouths.
-
74Call of Duty 3 could have been more than just another copy of previous installments, but with unnecessary gameplay mechanics, dumb AI, and a forgettable storyline, it brings nothing new in terms of enjoyment. Gorgeous visuals and a great multiplayer simply could not save Call of Duty 3 from being just a different battle in the same tired war.
-
68Take one part classic Call of Duty scripted FPS action, add in two parts improved level design, another one part updated graphics, and just about four parts upgraded multiplayer and you've got the ultimate Call of Duty stew.

RJ9Really Good Game! Decent gameplay the whole way through. The only problem is the difficulty of it. I play on Normal and it is still easy.
