  1. There is so much going on here, that by the end of the review I'm still stunned that it was only $19.99.
  2. If Carve were trying to compete with AAA racing titles then it would be quickly dismissed as a failure, but with an affordable price tag and a multiplayer element including flawlessly smooth online racing, there is no reason that any fan of watercraft racing or Xbox Live gaming should skip this game.
  3. The AI can be pretty mechanical, the courses get repetitive, and the waves don't have the dynamic feel of games like "Splashdown," but at least the soundtrack is filled with a surprisingly great selection of garage rock and club music. [Feb 2004, p.81]
  4. It's a great shame, but playing Carve is like playing Paint Dry Simulator on Xbox... all the wall textures are there, the gloss of the emulsion - you can even see the brush strokes in the drying paint - it just doesn't add up to a hell of a lot of fun.

I'm a sucker for these watercraft games. This one isn't bad. But the graphics are poor, and the gameplay is a bit simple. I think it is impressive what they can do while making a budget title. Expand
