  • Summary: Inspired by the film by Warner Bros., and based on the graphic novels by DC Comics and Vertigo Hellblazer, Constantine is an intense horror game that literally takes you to Hell and back. You play as John Constantine, an irreverent mystic detective who must embark on an investigation in a supernatural world that exists just beneath Los Angeles. To survive, you must use an array of powerful incantations and holy artifacts, including the crucifier, holy shotgun, and flamethrower. Your "true sight" ability helps you identify demons and other secrets. Collapse

  1. A bit too dark (as in "no light"), linear and uninventive. It is also strangely entertaining. [Mar. 05]
  2. The mix of spells, weapons, and melee is great and presents an ongoing challenge throughout the levels with the various demons and boss fights.
  3. The game isn't lacking in content, but there is nothing innovative that hasn't been done before.

Spell casting is a nice twist but overall this is your usual movie tie-in.
  5. It doesn't try to accomplish very much, and it succeeds at almost all of its very modest targets.
  6. It's pretty much as we had expected: another generic film license that was probably built to a set timescale and with a limited scope.
  7. No joke, I actually fell asleep playing the game, and it was only 3 o' clock in the afternoon!

The film rocked! I love Hellblazer, and even though it's Keanu in it, I thought he did a great job. The game is close to the movie, and instills a great feel of the comic book in you. Get this game now!! ;) Expand

I think it's a fantastic game. The graphics are good, the AI rocks, the control is sweet and the puzzles are involving.

Ignore the ill informed '1' scores here. This game is a solid title and complements the film very well. Some of the graphic effects are awesome and the spell casting/puzzle solving elements never seem tired of overdone. Dont listen to these idiots - give the game a try and see for yourself! Expand

I rented this game for the weekend and had trouble putting it down. Lots of scary demons and plenty of ammo and health. Nice visuals and great sound effects!!! I'll have to add this one to my collection! Expand

Ignore the reviews above, I can't understand why they're so harsh - Constantine is not perfectly but the presentation is absolutely fantastic, the controls are better than Max Payne and the gameplay is good fun. The levels are very nicely paced and even the voice acting is terrific. Ignore the above, this is a good, fun and well-stylised game. Expand
