85For sheer value for your gaming dollar, there's absolutely no way you're going to top Dai Senryaku VII: Modern Military Tactics, period. For the potential of hundreds of hours of gameplay, at a mere twenty dollars it's such a fantastic bargain that even if you don't think you'd be interested in turn-based strategy, you won't be hurting in the pocket if you give this one a try.
-
85You are not going to find a better game for $20.
-
80This is a complex, complicated turn-based wargame featuring literally hundreds of authentic modern military units, as well as a big campaign, dozens of stand-alone scenarios, and a full-fledged map editor.
-
It's daunting at first, but it'll make you an instant West Point graduate once it all clicks (there's even a map editor for the ambitious). [March 2005, p.137]
-
If you're an armchair general, it's hard to imagine a more appealing game on your Xbox than this. [Feb 2005, p.76]
-
80It would have been nice if the developer and Microsoft could have come up with some way to play via e-mail (or some other delayed method), but considering the price, there isn't much to complain about in Dai Senryaku VII.
-
78Where's the online play Kemco? We are definitely left wanting in that respect to this game. What a perfect genre to play on Live but for some reason developers left it out.
-
72If its a well-conceived tactical strategy game that you crave then Dai Senryaka VII will definitely be right up your alley. Sure it's a bit complex and it can get frustratingly hard at times but for those looking for a real challenge in this particular genre will find this one highly enjoyable.
-
Visually, it recalls the graphical prowess of a Super Nintendo title, while the game's total lack of system link and Xbox Live multiplayer flies in the face of Xbox doctrine. [Jan 2005, p.88]
-
70The game may have quite a steep learning curve to overcome, which may turn away a handful of potential fans, but those that are able to work beyond the game's initial challenges may find themselves quickly hooked on a style of gameplay that stimulates the mind rather than the senses.
-
58If the complicated gameplay doesn't deter most people, the horrendous graphics and sound are certainly not going to win any fans.
