Muto has sly humor, difficult challenges, and some fantastic gameplay elements and comes out as the second best platformer on Xbox.

Thankfully, the game's shape-shifting shtick lifts it above the average, by allowing the good doctor to transform himself into a spider, gorilla, and several other types of creatures. [Nov 2002, p.140]

A breath of pure oxygen to the platform genre... Despite it's inane premise and outward appearance, is really aimed at intelligent gamers with a sense of humor.
  5. An innovative game that brings fresh air to genre.
