If you're a fan of the series, this game is an essential purchase. It will only disappoint you if you have no idea how to handle the Z warriors.
  2. The visuals are bright and colorful, the controls are simple, and overall, the game is just enough fun to spend a rainy weekend with.

If you're a diehard, you'll relish playing through your favorite early battles in the epic story. Sagas is a competent first entry to the action genre, just not exemplary.
  4. Don't be fooled by the amazing graphics, because in reality, Dragonball Z: Sagas is only a game for the true, hardcore fans...and absolutely no one else.
  5. I hate to even recommend the game to fans, as the core gameplay elements are incredibly frustrating.
  6. Two-player co-op is okay, but it's still fans-only for this one. [June 2005, p.88]
  7. Some of the most antiquated and broken gameplay available on modern consoles. [June 2005, p.126]

Control, the most important factor in many games (and certainly fighting games) suffers from a lack of precision and finesse. Most of the environments feel bland, and level layout is equally uninspired.
  9. I think it's time somebody rethought this license. DBZ fans deserve much better. [May 2005, p.50]
  10. 40
Even the most hardcore DBZ fans will feel ripped off if they purchase Dragon Ball Z: Sagas, and non-rabid fans will be angry to the point of violence.
  11. A short, ugly, slightly buggy, and brain-dead beat-'em-up that all but nullifies the good work of the Budokai games.

The game is short (each sagas is made up of about 3 stages.) The character models are made brilliantly but the environments are dull. Great The game is short (each sagas is made up of about 3 stages.) The character models are made brilliantly but the environments are dull. Great to play with a friend in co-op but it quickly grows boring. The gameplay is okay, you can upgrade moves. Fans should just rent it and those who don't know about the show or anything related to it should stay away. Full Review »

First off, it is way too short, each "saga" contains an average of three stages. And as someone who has watched the show, there are a slew of things they could have included to make the game longer.
